2nd Shift Quality Inspector

QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma/GED, previous quality inspection or related experience in a fast-paced production environment (6 months to 1 year), strong attention to detail, basic measuring and computer skills, strong communication skills, problem-solving skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Verify final products against production standards, examine materials for conformance, report quality concerns, cross-train in different departments, maintain safety standards, inspect products, and ensure 100% accuracy of shipments.

SHORT DESCRIPTION
Join as a 2nd Shift Quality Inspector to support quality and process improvement initiatives in a production environment, ensuring that all products meet standards and collaborating closely with the production team.
- 2nd shift; Monday through Friday from 2:00pm - 10:00pm
- Physically verify that final products (statements and letters) meet production standards by comparing them to the written order instructions
- Examine material by confirming required manufacturing or industry specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials
- Return products for re-work if needed and complete documentation to confirm re-work
- Explain to operators and supervisors how the product doesn’t match the clients instructions
- Walk around to different machines to verify the accuracy of jobs
- Cross-train in different departments to further develop your skills (postal, shipping, hand table, and more)
- Report problems or concerns with quality results with senior management immediately
- Ensure that items that go out the door are 100% accurate
- Input data into the production database
- Learn about our production process and the role that the QA has
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations
- Inspect materials and products for conformance to specifications using fixed or preset measuring instruments
- Ensures materials and products are in accordance with established tolerance levels for quality and performance and are not irregular or damaged
- High School Diploma/GED
- Previous Quality Inspection or related / relevant experience within a fast-paced high production environment
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in a production environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic measuring skills - able to read a ruler and other measurement devices
- Basic computer skills (open and save documents, print files, and enter data)
- Strong communication skills - must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to perform duties and tasks to meet deadlines
- Good problem-solving skills
- Be able to work extended hours and weekends based on the production schedule
- This location adheres to the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA); all employees must undergo a federal background check, which requires U.S. citizenship
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information and ideas so others will understand
- Regularly required to remain in a stationary position
- Constantly operates machinery and handles products including print materials
- Frequently required to move inside the facility
- Regularly move up to 25+ pounds (lift, push, pull and/or carry
- Experience working in the print and/or mail industry
- Post-high school education
