SHORT DESCRIPTION

Join Gregory FCA as an Account Director, responsible for leading PR campaigns, mentoring staff, and ensuring high-quality deliverables while actively engaging in client and industry dynamics.

Gregory FCA, one of the nation’s largest PR firms, is looking for an Account Director to join our team! We are looking for a professional who can mentor and direct junior staff, and independently oversee portions of campaigns as directed by SVP. The ideal candidate has strong media relations, client communications, strategy and project management skills.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage and align daily activities to assure quality standards and to reach client expectations. They set the tone and pace of the day, prioritize objectives on a daily basis, and delegate work to other team members.
  • Able to properly staff accounts, with direction of VP/SVP, understanding the workload/team members need to complete SOW.
  • Able to see projects through from start to finish, independent of VP or SVP.
  • Strong communicator - able to communicate account work directly to staff and make sure all team members are working collaboratively.
  • Conduct media outreach at a high level of impact. Oversee media strategy. They save difficult media assignments for themselves while delegating others to team members according to skills and abilities.
  • Actively participate in the management of the team’s development of day-to-day work.Nurture and help junior team members hone in on their skills in a positive manner. A member of the team staff can turn to for advice, career counsel. Ability to spot performance issues.
  • Senior level “go to” for client suggestions and inquiries and acting as day to day point person.
  • Oversees final review and delivery of strategic press releases, blog posts, media queries, and social media posts.
  • Have a high level of skill of overall productivity tools.
  • Champion of the firm; providing ideas for firm training; leading training events.
  • Stay current and have a strong understanding of issues, processes, terms, products, and regulations specific to clients’ industries.
  • Provide feedback to VPs and SVPS on issues of strategic direction, competitive threats and changes in the public relations landscape.
  • Attend client and industry events, conferences, etc. Share findings and conclusions with the firm.
  • Participate in Gregory FCA marketing initiatives and play a key role in meetings and new business processes.
  • Identify and refer any and all issues, risks and concerns to VP or SVP, helping to create solutions to those risks/red flags.
  • All other tasks as assigned.

Education:

  • An undergraduate degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, English, or a similar major.

Experience/Skills:

  • Six to eight years of PR experience
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and operational and productivity tools
  • Understanding of AI and how it can support work.
  • Team player, leader and mentor
