Assist in monthly close process, oversee account reconciliations, manage and mentor accounting staff, document and improve procedures and controls, liaise with external audits, prepare financial reports, and support annual audit of financial statements.

The Opportunity...

We are looking to find a motivated Accounting Manager to join our team in LA. This person will be (i) assisting in the monthly close process, (ii) overseeing account reconciliations, (iii) managing and mentoring staff, (iv) documenting and improving procedures and controls and (v) liaison with external audits. We are looking for an individual with excellent communication and organizational skills who wants to grow their career with a rapidly growing company.

How You'll Contribute...

  • Actively contribute and mentor the accounting team to ensure team performance goals are being met
  • Prepare and review journal entries and provide constructive feedback as applicable
  • Design and oversee the completion of financial reports and account reconciliations ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards
  • Provide financial and operational flux analysis with an emphasis on month-over-month variances
  • Work closely with stakeholders to manage requirements and set expectations with the team resources
  • Ensure the adoption of the latest industry trends such as tools/processes/best practices and research potential improvements to procedures and controls
  • Foster a high-quality and high-performance culture within the team
  • Strive to develop the team with limited individual dependencies
  • Focus on continuous improvement and have the ability to adapt as the company evolves
  • Support Accounting leadership to complete annual audit of financial statements
  • Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned by the Controller, VP, and CFO

What We're Looking For...

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience is preferred
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Comfortable interfacing with senior leadership
  • Ability to manage, mentor, delegate, and individually contribute in both a remote and an onsite environment
  • Advanced excel skills preferred
  • Sage Intacct or similar ERP preferred
  • Mix a of public and private experience preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant designation preferred
