SHORT DESCRIPTION
The Activation Coordinator, Partnership Marketing is responsible for the daily activation of partnerships at Sporting Kansas City, ensuring successful execution of initiatives to enhance brand visibility and meet partnership objectives.
The Activation Coordinator, Partnership Marketing will support the execution of assigned account assets at the highest levels of customer service and internal functions to ensure the Partnership Team is set for success.
- Serve as a liaison between Sporting Club and assigned partnership portfolio to build and maintain a positive relationship between both parties.
- Implement, activate, and track all assigned partner assets to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to support the development of comprehensive activation strategies aligned with the overall partnership objectives and brand goals.
- Support the end-to-end execution of activation plans, including events, promotions, sponsorships, and community engagement activities. Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Create, track, and maintain all recaps and case studies for assigned portfolio detailing the process and success of their partnership program and assets.
- Maintain accurate reporting through KORE, Activate, and CRM systems, ensuring database management is aligned both internally and externally.
- Plan and execute partner events as assigned which may include pre-game receptions, youth soccer clinics, stadium tours, in-game promotions, player appearances, community programs, etc.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships and touchpoints with each partner in the assigned portfolio to develop long-term relationships and help to find creative solutions that go above and beyond the contract to enhance the partnership experience.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities in sports marketing. Leverage insights to continuously enhance activation strategies and stay ahead of the curve.
- Support and assist Partnership Marketing team with planning and executing the year-end recap process plus involvement in renewal pitch processes and presentations.
- Assist the Associate Director of Strategy & Insights with managing sold inventory and available assets while utilizing KORE to generate deal sheets for all sold deals.
- Coordinating with the operations team to create custom welcome graphics in Children’s Mercy Park for key pitches.
- Collaborating with finance and facilitating the distribution of invoices to the activation team.
- Support and assist the Vice President, Corporate Partnerships with special projects and initiatives as needed.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
- Meet with partners and vendors to help set up activation spaces prior to the match.
- Conduct pre-match tours of the suites, concourse, and club spaces for partners.
- Take photos of activations to provide as proof of performance.
- Plan and execute halftime contests, as applicable.
- Gather matchday notes and provide a recap of the match.
- Strong organizational, communications and interpersonal skills.
- Verbal and written communication skills to facilitate clear and concise interaction with internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize, and prioritize objectives.
- Attention to detail for overseeing all aspects of activation planning and execution, from logistics coordination to brand integration.
- Highly driven self-starter, with the ability to work independently and prioritize daily duties with minimal supervision. High performer.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Sports Management/Administration, Business, or other related field required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of activation and/or relationship management experience, preferably within the sports industry.
- Excellent spelling, grammar, proofreading skills, with a strong ability to communicate ideas both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated strong teamwork aptitude and customer service skills.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Calendar.
