RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide professional actuarial advice/services, perform and supervise actuarial research, solve actuarial problems, remain updated on actuarial techniques, and provide guidance to department members.

Seeking an Actuary to offer critical actuarial services for the development and maintenance of various insurance products, ensuring long-term financial strength and compliance with laws and regulations.

Summary
Provide professional actuarial advice/services critical to development, implementation and maintenance of the Company's insurance, disability, annuity, and long-term care products. The Actuarial Department develops appropriate premiums, dividends, reserves, and surplus requirements by analyzing mortality, morbidity, persistency, investment and expense experience, striving to maintain equity and consistency among all policy owner underwriting classes, while safeguarding the Company's long term financial strength. Perform/supervise actuarial work required to advise on matters related to product pricing, dividend setting, reserve levels, mortality/morbidity issues, and field compensation. Additionally, strive to keep current on actuarial techniques, and on laws and regulations pertinent to your area of expertise; provide guidance to others within your assigned field of expertise.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Perform and/or supervise actuarial research and other actuarial work required to properly advise Company officials of matters related but not limited to product pricing, dividend setting, reserve levels, mortality/morbidity issues, and field compensation.
Identify and solve a wide variety of actuarial problems related to the Company's operation.
Keep up to date on current developments in actuarial techniques and research and on the laws and regulations applicable to his/her area of responsibility.
Provide guidance to other officers or members of the department within the incumbent's field of expertise.
May also represent the department or Company as a member of Company, industry or professional committees.
Qualifications
A Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation or equivalent qualifications with an additional year of actuarial service in order to provide substantial knowledge and experience in a variety of actuarial subjects.
A high degree of expertise in one or more areas of Department activities.
