QUALIFICATIONS
Current RN licensure in Texas or compact state, BCLS, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or working towards BSN), management RN experience in a clinical setting, preferred Master’s degree in related field, and at least 5 years of healthcare department management experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, organize, direct, and control critical care services, formulate budget plans, analyze and facilitate quality improvement, manage human resources processes, oversee department policies, collaborate with medical staff, facilitate committee meetings, develop department personnel, and participate in marketing and goal evaluation efforts.

Job Summary and Qualifications
Responsible for the planning, organizing, directing, and controlling of the critical care units at Las Palmas Medical Center including ICU, Neuro ICU, Telemetry, and Cardiovascular Services. To advise hospital management regarding the status of patient care, budgetary projections, quality improvement processes, and human resource applications. To anticipate and estimate future needs of the organization needed to improve the quality of patient care. To collaborate and coordinate the efforts of leaders within the organization to accomplish the mission of Las Palmas Medical Center.
- You will plan, organize, direct, and control programs in the Las Palmas ICU, ER, and Freestanding ER service lines.
- You will formulate sound fiscal operations including the timely and accurate compilation, analysis, development, and publication of an annual budget and the monitoring of implementation.
- You will administer, analyze, and appraise Quality Improvement and facilitate the interdepartmental performance Improvement process throughout the services supervised.
- You will control and authorize processes related to Human Resources; inclusive of position control, job descriptions, professional practice, recruitment, and retention, and performance evaluations.
- You will develop, interpret, inspect, and review policies and procedures within the department-specific areas.
- You will cooperate with the Medical Staff and other hospital personnel to ensure that high-quality services are being rendered to patients in the outpatient areas.
- You will facilitate department committee meetings to include: developing the agenda and gathering reports in a timely manner.
- You will develop and motivate Department Directors and other key personnel to optimize their talents and meet the overall needs and goals of the organization.
- You will collaborate, develop, and participate in marketing of the services, including educational program development, external advertising, and working in alliance with local and regional programs.
- You will participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of goals/business plans established for the organization and the services supervised.
What qualifications you will need:
- Current RN licensure in Texas or compact state required
- BCLS
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or working towards obtaining BSN.
- Management RN experience required in a clinical setting.
- Master’s degree in related field preferred.
- Five (5) years experience in healthcare department management preferred.
