Admission-Marketing Director
LOCATION
Facility-based position, with the requirement to maintain a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Human Services, Healthcare or related field with 3+ years of experience in Admissions and one year of management experience preferred. Alternatively, an associate’s degree in a relevant field with two years of experience as Admissions-Marketing Director; fundraising experience required. Long-term care experience and familiarity with Long-Term Care Regulations preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Organize and control admission activities, screen potential residents, develop sales and marketing plans, liaise with healthcare professionals, maintain census, conduct facility tours, verify insurance prior to admission, and manage admissions records. Additional duties include monitoring budget, performing staff evaluations, participating in fundraising, and presenting CQI data.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Organizes and controls the admission activities of the facility.
Screens residents for the facility.
Develops and implements sales and marketing plans.
Contacts medical, insurance, legal and financial professionals as well as special interest groups, hospital discharge planners and other community contacts.
Recommends appropriate prospective residents for admission.
Acts as liaison to hospital discharge planners, social service departments and other referral sources
Assists families/residents in choosing an attending physician
Maintains optimal census
Coordinates the admissions activities of the facility.
Communicates with the referral network.
Communicates with discharge planner, agencies and families regarding admission decisions and arranges for admissions.
Schedules incoming patients, and initiates and maintains contact with nursing personnel, social services and other related departments.
Verifies patient insurance prior to admission, ensuring primary and secondary payment sources.
Conducts tours of the facility for potential residents, families, community, and representatives from placement agencies and organizations.
Attends and participates in in-service educational programs, particularly those that relate to the psychosocial needs of the elderly, community resources, and admission requirements (Title XVIII and Title XIX), etc.
Maintains professional confidentiality.
Follows up on inquiries and maintains current and active waiting lists
Monitors budget.
Assists admissions coordinator in completion of admission documents, including: Admission Agreements, Medical Consents and Assignment of Benefits.
Maintains admission records as required.
Informs patient/responsible party of facility policies and procedures and Resident Rights.
Maintains current knowledge of federal and state regulations as they relate to Admissions Department.
Initiates calls to hospitals for referrals.
Answers telephone inquiries regarding facility's programs and availability of beds.
Maintains a flexible work schedule so as to be available to work evenings and weekends as required.
Attends outside meetings as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
May conduct program evaluation, post discharge data inquiries prior to discharge of a resident, compiles results and submits to Administrator.
Disseminates Family Satisfaction Surveys by mail/phone, compiles results monthly and discusses issues with relevant Department Heads.
Develops and monitors CQI data and presents results quarterly at CQI meetings.
Interviews and selects Admissions Coordinator for Department
Assumes responsibility for training and managing Admissions Coordinator.
Completes performance evaluations for Admissions Coordinator.
Consistently demonstrates responsibility, accountability and dependability.
Comes to work clean and neat and consistently presents a professional appearance
Assumes accountability for all data contained in the personnel policy manual.
- Participates in fundraising, event planning and development including but not limited to reporting, cash handling, auction planning, calling sponsors etc.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
May prepare monthly statistical data reports of admissions.
May lecture before groups relative to health care services available
May screen prospective residents for medical rehabilitation needs and appropriateness for admission.
May maintain daily log of all referrals.
Supports the long-range and short-range census goals established by the Administrator.
Recruits residents for the facility.
May type for the Admissions Department.
Prerequisites:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Human Services, Healthcare or related field, plus 3+ year experience in Admissions and one year management experience preferred. Or associate’s degree in human services, Healthcare, /Nursing or related field plus two years experience as an Admissions -Marketing Director. Fundraising experience is required.
Long-term care experience preferred, but not required.
Familiarity with Attorney General's Long-Term Care Regulations.
