The Director of Admissions coordinates the admission process for residents and promotes the facility's services through marketing efforts and community engagement.

Department: Admissions


Job Summary: The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate the admissions of new and returning residents from home, hospital, or other health care settings and to maintain the facility at its maximum capacity. The position also entails a marketing component to hospitals and other potential clientele for the purpose of promoting long term, transitional, and exceptional care offered by the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have working knowledge of resident services, general nursing care, housekeeping standards, and marketing principles.
  • Must be qualified to assume the position by training and /or previous experience, preferably in a health care facility.
  • A B.A. in marketing or business management is preferred.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be physically and mentally capable of performing routine job duties.
  • Good administrative, managerial, organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have healthcare marketing experience, preferably in long term care.
  • Be personable with residents, families, staff, social workers, and marketing professionals in the healthcare industry and general advertising.
  • Must have compassion, tolerance, and understanding for the elderly.
  • Basic knowledge of JCAHO, IDPH, and IDPA regulations.

MAIN DUTIES:

  • Support the facility's philosophy of care and strive to achieve its goals and objectives.
  • Arrange community events as needed to achieve goals for:

1) Facility

2) Public

3) Community Relations (public)

4) Village Board

5) Churches

6) Temples

7) Etc.

  • Meet with social workers, discharge planners, and doctors in all affiliated entities.
  • Maintain and update contact lists of hospitals, doctors, community, family/relative members.
  • Assist in quarterly publication of the Center’s news for the public and families.
  • Substitute for or assist in the admissions process.
  • Coordinate pictures of special events in the facility.
  • Have local newspapers and healthcare periodicals do articles of special events in the facility.
