QUALIFICATIONS
Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience, preferred 3-5 years in project management with supervisory skills, strong communication, collaboration abilities, and experience in the agriculture industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the Agricultural Advocacy, Marketing and Outreach Team, manage domestic and international marketing, oversee agribusiness retention and recruitment, develop budgets, foster industry relationships, and promote cross-functional collaboration.

SHORT DESCRIPTION
The division director will oversee marketing activities and team leadership at the Kansas Department of Agriculture to support the state's agricultural economy.
The Kansas Department of Agriculture is devoted to the total support of agriculture in Kansas. The department works for the entire Kansas agriculture sector including farmers, ranchers, food establishments and agribusinesses. The agency has a balanced approach to providing an environment that enhances and encourages economic growth of the agriculture industry and Kansas economy while promoting and advocating for the agriculture industry, the state’s largest industry, employer, and economic contributor. Compensation:
- Annual Salary Range: $88,000 to $100,000 Per Year
- Hourly Pay Range: $42.31 to $48.08 Per Hour
- Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications.

Position Summary & Responsibilities:
Major Responsibilities
- Lead /Manage a multi-disciplined team in the strategic development, tracking and management of domestic and international marketing and trade.
- Coordinate the Division’s overall marketing plan for agribusiness retention and recruitment.
- Develop and manage the annual and long-term budget.
- Collaborate with the executive leadership on strategic planning assignments.
- Develop relationships with industry partners and stakeholders.
- Support team strategies, goals, and objectives.
- Exhibit flexibility within best practices to ensure quality, accuracy, and effectiveness of work within the division.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration with other divisions and programs of the agency.
- Coordinate team professional development and growth with assistance of agency staff.
- Occasional day and overnight travel may be required.
- Minimum Qualification: undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred 3-5 years project management experience with supervisory skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and cultivate relationships and lead cross-functional teams with preferred experience in the agriculture industry.
- Strong multi-tasking, project management and prioritization skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration ability with people at all levels.
