SHORT DESCRIPTION

The Annual Fund and Giving Coordinator supports the Philanthropy department at the Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance by managing donor relations, assisting with fundraising campaigns, and contributing to a collaborative and innovative team environment.

The Annual Fund and Giving Coordinator provides vital administrative support to the Philanthropy department and ensures exceptional customer service for donors and guests. Key responsibilities include assisting the Annual Fund and Leadership Annual Giving Manager with campaign deliverables and logistics, coordinating donor tours, and collaborating closely with the Philanthropy team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Priority 1 – Administrative Support for Annual Fund

  • Assists with tracking Annual Fund campaign deliverables, email marketing calendars, and budgets.
  • Coordinates logistics of large mailings.
  • Collaborates with the Development Services team to generate lists for Annual Fund campaigns.
  • Compiles statistics for Annual Fund campaigns by working across multiple departments.
  • Analyzes donors, revenue and trends for each campaign.
  • Supports tasks associated with Annual Fund revenue streams, including peer-to-peer (P2P) fundraising.
  • Manages Adopt-an-Animal program marketing assets by collaborating with internal departments and external vendors.

Priority 2 – Zoo Pride Administrative Support

  • Provides exceptional customer service to Zoo Pride donors, particularly those at Sahara level, through email, phone and in-person interactions.
  • Oversees group tour fulfillment, including scheduling with Animal Care, managing schedules within software, sending weekly confirmation emails to tour guests, and sharing rosters with the Philanthropy Team.
  • Conducts donor tours twice per month on average, including one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) from March through October.
  • Supports Zoo Pride reporting, analytics, and benefit fulfillment.
  • Prepares and sends monthly communications to Zoo Pride members, such as renewal postcards and birthday cards.

Priority 3 - Administrative Support for Major Gifts

  • Pulls, organizes, and reviews monthly prospecting lists for handoff to the Annual Fund and Leadership Annual Giving Manager or Individual Giving Manager for outreach.
  • Participates in weekend and evening events as needed.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Other assistance, as designated by the Annual Fund Manager, to support the overall goals of the department and organization. DZCA retains the right to add or change duties and/or responsibilities at any time.
  • Acts as a good steward of DZCA's resources.
  • The nature of this position requires safeguarding against the release of confidential and proprietary information of Denver Zoo.
  • This position will interact with managers at all levels and staff members across the organization, in addition to members of external organizations and the public.

Technical / Professional Requirements & Qualifications

  • A two-year degree, or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a fundraising or business administrative position required; experience with Tessitura software strongly desirable; experience working in a nonprofit preferred or any equivalent combination of experience, lived experience, and/or special skills.
  • Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, and logistics for events, campaigns, or similar projects. Experience with large-scale mailings and donor communications is preferred.
  • Familiarity with donor databases, CRM systems, and scheduling tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and the ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Requires organizational skills, written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize work and tasks. Requires adaptability to produce and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-task and changing environment, and the ability to work as part of a team.

Compensation

Range for this position is $25.94- $31.78 hourly.

Position Conditions

  • Ability to pass a physical examination, background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.
  • Schedule Availability: Schedule Availability: Monday – Friday 8am-5pm. We recognize that fundraising does not follow a standard office schedule. Night and weekend availability is required to attend events, host donor tours and other cultivation/stewardship opportunities.
