QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Architecture or related field, Oregon Architect License (or must obtain within six months), minimum of five years of experience in building construction and/or renovation, minimum of three years in administrative roles, proficiency in AutoCAD, and experience in diverse team leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the construction project lifecycle, lead design meetings, create construction documentation, conduct facility inspections, maintain comprehensive records, and build stakeholder relationships to enhance operational functions.

Position Details
The purpose of this position is to assist the Dean/Director, Associate Deans, and the Chief Operating Officer of the College of Agricultural Sciences (CAS) and Oregon Agricultural Experiment Station, the statewide branch experiment stations, and the academic departments within CAS, concerning space needs and utilization, maintenance of facilities, safety and fire hazards, facilities planning, remodeling, and construction of new facilities across the state.
The CAS Architect is expected to embody and advance the principles and practices conveyed in the CAS CARE Commitment document.

- Conduct thorough inspections of facilities and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Develop clear and concise as-built drawings at AES unit sites, detailing locations, dimensions, structural elements, elevations, and grades, ensuring all inspections and calculations are authorized by a licensed structural engineer.
- Maintain comprehensive records pertaining to sites, utilities, and floor/book plans for AES units
- Pursue ongoing professional development and training to maintain Architect License and stay current on relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, zoning requirements, building codes, etc.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify funding opportunities for enhancing facilities and operational functions.
- Other duties as assigned by college leadership.
Possession of an Oregon Architect License or must obtain such license within six months of appointment.
Minimum of five years of experience in designing and overseeing building construction and/or renovation.
Minimum of three years of administrative experience, including budget and project management.
Proficient in the use of AutoCAD or related software.
Experience providing leadwork for people with different backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences.
This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
Experience supervising and engaging with professionals in a way that fosters an effective work environment that encourages teamwork.
Experience making independent and joint decisions using organizational policies and procedures.
Be self-directed and manage a complex workload and organization with competing priorities.
Effective communication.
Experience with eBuilder or other project management software.
