Position Overview:
The Director of Sales oversees all aspects of sales and revenue generation for a hospitality establishment, including hotel accommodations, catering services, and food and beverage outlets. They develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive business growth, maximize revenue, and achieve sales targets across all areas of the operation.
Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy Development:
Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to increase revenue and market share for hotel rooms, catering services, and food and beverage outlets.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
- Set sales targets and goals for the sales team and monitor performance against objectives.
Client Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with corporate clients, event planners, travel agents, and other potential customers.
- Conduct sales meetings, presentations, and site tours to showcase hotel facilities, catering services, and food and beverage offerings.
- Respond to inquiries, prepare proposals, and negotiate contracts for group bookings, events, catering services, and dining reservations.
Revenue Generation:
- Drive sales revenue by promoting hotel accommodations, meeting spaces, banquet facilities, catering services, and food and beverage outlets.
- Maximize occupancy rates and average daily rates (ADR) through effective pricing strategies and revenue management techniques.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling of hotel amenities, catering packages, and dining experiences to enhance guest satisfaction and increase revenue.
Team Leadership and Training:
- Recruit, train, and supervise the sales team, including sales managers, coordinators, and support staff.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and performance feedback to ensure team members meet sales targets and deliver exceptional service.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork, creativity, and professional growth.
Marketing and Promotion:
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns and promotional activities to drive awareness and demand for hotel accommodations, catering services, and food and beverage offerings.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create marketing materials, advertisements, and online content.
- Participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote the hotel and its hospitality services.
Budget Management:
- Develop and manage sales budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Monitor sales expenses, commissions, and incentives to ensure cost-effectiveness and profitability.
- Control sales-related costs and overheads to maximize profitability and return on investment (ROI).
