Asset Recovery and Logistics Coordinator

This is a CONTRACT position for our client in the oil and gas industry and is located in DOWNTOWN HOUSTON, TX.

Position Summary:

Priority: This role acts as a key interface and focal for company's internal stakeholders as related to Materials & Equipment Surplus and Asset Recovery Processes. The role may also provide freight/customs logistical support to the business..

The Asset Recovery and Logistics Coordinator is responsible and accountable for facilitating internal redeployment and maximizing the return on material & equipment that is excess, obsolete, or have reached the end of their operational life. As part of the asset recovery process, this role acts as a point of contact for logistics related needs and collaborates with SC Contract-Sourcing Specialists, SC Buyers, vendors, warehouse, Customs Compliance team and the Business Unit (BU) Stakeholders to achieve timely delivery of materials. The ability to effectively work with a wide variety of stakeholders of diverse backgrounds will be critical for success in this position.

Scope: The Asset Recovery and Logistics Coordinator will:

  • Serve as a Supply Chain focal working with projects and operations teams related to surplus material, its internal redeployment and external disposition.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with 3rd party companies which specialize in the marketing and sale of surplus materials and equipment.
  • Develop and execute internal processes to facilitate the visibility and redeployment of surplus materials and equipment.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to internal clients and colleagues related to Surplus & Asset Recovery activities.
  • Support multiple lines of business, including Gas and Energy.
  • Support multiple jurisdictions, including Canada and the US.

Reporting Structure: Reporting to Manager - Logistics, Asset Recovery & Project Support, the Asset Recovery and Logistics Coordinator will work with counterparts in the Materials Management, Logistics & Warehousing team, across Supply Chain, and throughout the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, administer and ensure compliance with company policies, processes and procedures
  • Drive continuous improvement in Asset Recovery and Logistics in order to maximize efficiency and revenue, while maintaining high levels of client engagement and satisfaction.
  • Work with internal clients to identify scrap and surplus material that is eligible for redeployment, sale, or disposal.
  • Develop the marketing plan and manage the disposition of surplus, obsolete, and end of lifecycle materials and equipment in a manner that optimizes the overall return for company.
  • Identify potential brokers and/or buyers, obtain and compare quotes, and document sales utilizing standard internal documentation.
  • Work with Community Relations and internal client groups to process donations of surplus material.
  • Negotiate, issue, and administer all contracts associated with the sale or disposal of all targeted materials and equipment throughout the company.
  • Interface with accounting for invoicing, receipt of payment, and accounting of funds.
  • Track sales, and report Asset Recovery revenues and activities.
  • Provide clear and concise performance measurements to clearly communicate Asset Recovery process performance.
  • Provide Asset Recovery training and support to internal stakeholders within and outside of Supply Chain
  • Freight management of day to day logistics issues and resolution pertaining to service failures, service interruptions, customs and brokers.
  • Support Freight Bill, Audit & Pay invoicing processes
  • Consider company’s business needs while advising and recommending the options available with respect to movement of goods (INCOTERMS).

Role Qualifications: Formal qualifications required to perform this role.

Must have

A high school diploma is required;

At least five (5) years related Supply Chain experience, in pipeline, mid-stream or other related oil & gas setting.

Must have experience with SAP and inventory related SAP functions

Very high attention to detail and strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to turn large data sets into useful and actionable information

Strong customer service focus and effective problems solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, through written, oral and presentation abilities combined with ability to utilize those skills during interactions with peers, colleagues and clients at all levels

Self-starter and able to work under deadlines, with strong time management and priority setting skills

Designation or enrollment in a Supply Chain certification (SCMP, CPIM, etc.)

General experience with Materials Management & Warehousing functions

General knowledge of the overall Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process across a variety of commodities (materials)

Pay: $48.00 - $50.00 per hour
