SHORT DESCRIPTION

The Assistant Brand Manager will drive brand growth initiatives for the Working Hands and Body pillars, focusing on increasing brand awareness and equity through various marketing strategies.

The Assistant Brand Manager is responsible for leading and assisting in the development and execution of brand growth initiatives to increase brand awareness and deepen brand equity on the Working Hands and Body pillars. Specifically, this person will assist in the day to day operations of the brand, development of marketing materials and brand expansion initiatives in the U.S. market for Food, Drug, Mass, Home Center and Hardware channels.

  • Uses Judgement: Can use data but also can leverage judgement and intuition based on experience to make timely and informed decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the category landscape, key competitors, and retail trends for the Working Hands and Body pillars.
  • Serve as the brand contact for OKeeffes brand performance and market analytics across all channels. This includes the analysis of market performance-based data from Nielsen and PowerBI shipment data.
  • Contribute to setting the strategy for growth and manage day-to-day risks and opportunities on Working Hands and Body pillars.
  • Collaborate with sales teams and R&D functions to create retail growth stories and assist with customer line reviews.
  • Lead the execution of day to day operational activities such as business team reviews, PBRs, new product sample requests, and design briefs.
  • Assist in the development and execution of launch plans for new product innovation, new product consumer positioning and business strategy around strategic retail and in-market initiatives.
  • Lead research efforts on behalf of the brand to gather insightful consumer data.
  • Own and lead the development of the OKeeffes key season gifting program.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • BS Required; Major in Business, Marketing, Communications, Advertising or Public Relations preferred.
  • 2-4 years marketing experience.

Specific Skills:

  • Self-Starter: Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously in an organized manner.
  • Strong leadership skills and confidence working cross functionally with colleagues at all levels to manage and complete projects.
  • Results oriented approach with a proven ability to execute projects from start to finish, working through functional and business barriers as needed.
  • Strong team- player - able to effectively participate and motivate others working within a team environment.
  • Organized and able to multi-task in order to manage and balance multiple projects at one time.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to present to all levels within the organization as well as customers.
  • Demonstrates the ability to be analytical and creative when needed.
  • Nielsen/IRI analysis experience preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Travel Required: 10-15%
