UIC is seeking an Assistant Director Email Marketing to join our UIC Extended Campus team. This position develops and executes email marketing and communications plans for degree and certificate programs for UIC Online (UIC Extended Campus). This role is responsible for the ideation, creation, deployment, and analysis of email marketing plans for UIC Online programs and Email Marketing Drip Campaigns, along with monthly reporting and analysis. This position also coordinates projects with internal and external partners and service providers, and ensures that marketing is timely, within budget, and following approved messaging.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Email Marketing Campaigns for UIC Online Programs:
- Manage and build overall email marketing strategy.
- Creation of email marketing campaigns for BHIS, MEng, MESA, MPA, non-credit programs, partnerships, and future programs.
- Build and execute emails in Slate.
- Proofread emails for clarity, grammar and spelling. Responsible for accuracy of emails.
- Manage recipient lists, scheduling, and deploying emails.
- Ensure emails follow industry policies and best practices.
- Communicate and collaborate with multiple teams, UIC online marketing and Extended Campus teams.
Email Reports and Analytics:
- Pull monthly marketing and drip email reports by program.
- Track, analyze, interpret, and make recommendations based on the data.
Email Marketing Drip Campaigns:
- Manage and build overall drip email marketing strategy.
- Creation of email marketing campaigns for BHIS, MEng, MESA, MPA, and future programs.
- Build and execute emails in Slate.
- Proofread emails for clarity, grammar and spelling. Responsible for accuracy of emails.
- Manage drip cadence, scheduling, and deploying emails.
- Ensure emails follow industry policies and best practices.
- Communicate and collaborate with multiple teams, UIC online marketing and Extended Campus teams.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field.
- One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related professional area.
- Demonstrated experience with analyzing data from email marketing platform(s), including pulling email reports, interpreting data and making recommendations based on the data.
Note: Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Slate or other comprehensive platform for admissions & enrollment management, student success, and alumni & advancement.
- InDesign and Photoshop skills desired for creating email graphic headers.
- Ability to pull email reports, interpret data, and make recommendations based on the data.
- Proven track record of increasing customer base through email marketing.
- Critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
- Good time-management skills.
- Able to translate strategy to action and meet deadlines.
- Team player with great interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to ask for help when needed.
