The Assistant General Manager will support the operations of a seasonal resort community, focusing on marketing, rental program growth, and ensuring excellent guest experiences through collaboration with staff and communication with property owners.

Assistant General Manager(AGM)

Job Overview: We are looking for a full-time, year-round Assistant General Manager for a seasonal resort condominium community in Wells, Maine. The resort features 247 units, which are occupied by both owners and renters from May to October. The property, spanning 60 acres, offers a variety of amenities for residents and guests. The successful candidate will assist the General Manager with day-to-day operations, collaborate on projects, and take the lead on assignments as needed. A key aspect of this role will be marketing and driving growth in our rental program. The role will also involve communication with property owners regarding their rentals, reviewing renter satisfaction reports, and tracking rental revenue and occupancy rates to ensure they align with budget and historical performance goals. The AGM will work closely with the Front Desk Lead to coordinate and manage the scheduling of cleaning contractors and inspectors, ensuring that quality standards are met.

  • Coordinates and assists in interviewing, orientation and training of staff.
  • Works with Front Desk Lead to hire, schedule, and oversee cleaning contractors and inspectors.
  • Collaborates with the General Manager on daily operations to ensure optimal consumer experience in all interactions.
  • Implements methods of monitoring the satisfaction of owners and renters and develops action plans with GM to address concerns and suggestions for improvement.
  • Participates with the GM in creating and executing a marketing strategy for the Association’s Rental Program.
  • Assists with enrolling owners into the Association Rental Program and makes sure cottages comply with standards for the program.
  • Develops and maintains excellent communication with owners, renters, staff and vendors.
  • In the absence of the GM, will act as Manager on Duty and will take the lead in handling emergency and security situations.
  • If requested, participates on BOD appointed committees.
  • Supports the General Manager with performance improvement initiatives to ensure efficient operations that align with the Association’s goals.
  • Communicates major updates to owners (such as program changes, and property enhancements) and gathers and incorporates feedback prior to distribution.
  • Assists the Events Committee in the planning, scheduling, and running of social activities, entertainment and general community activities as requested.
  • Availability required on weekends and holidays throughout the summer season.

Qualifications:

  • Prefer experience in property, rental or hospitality management. Highly organized, able to multitask effectively in a fast pace peak season environment.
  • Experience in hospitality marketing desired.
  • Polite, confident, and customer-service focused.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
