Position Description

The Department of Pharmacy Administration in the School of Pharmacy at The University of Mississippi invites applications for a full time, tenure-track position for the rank of Assistant Professor.


The successful applicant will have opportunities to collaborate with eight full-time pharmacy administration faculty and to capitalize on collaborative relationships with faculty in other academic departments on campus. The successful applicant will also enjoy affiliation with the Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and collaborative opportunities with the Center for Pharmaceutical Marketing and Management, a center of excellence in pharmaceutical marketing, pharmacy management, and medication use outcomes research, and is home to Medicare, Medicaid and other data that support its research mission. The position offers the potential for growth in an established program committed to excellence in pharmacy and graduate education.


Areas of interest include pharmacy practice research, practice advancement/transformation, and/or implementation science. Other interests may include outcomes research, pharmacoeconomics, pharmacoepidemiology, health policy, or social behavioral research.

Minimum Qualifications

A Ph.D. or comparable degree in pharmacy administration, health services research, or related field is required by the time of employment. Experience in or knowledge of the health care system and/or the field of pharmacy is required. Candidates should have the ability to teach in the professional (PharmD) curriculum, including in an evidence-based practice course, and teaching in the graduate curriculum. Responsibilities for this position also includes initiation of research projects, and participation in collaborative research projects of mutual interest, and service to the department and school of pharmacy.
