SHORT DESCRIPTION

Blair Academy is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Assistant/Associate Director of Annual Giving to engage alumni in philanthropic initiatives and support the school’s mission within a collaborative environment.

Blair Academy’s Office of Advancement has an opening for a 12-month, full time Assistant/Associate Director of Annual Giving. We are seeking a dynamic, results-oriented individual to join our Advancement team. This role plays a vital part in supporting the School’s mission by engaging alumni in our philanthropic initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who thrives in a collaborative environment, has a great sense of humor and is passionate about the impact of education. This position will report to the Director of Annual Giving.

Primary responsibilities: (The following list of duties & responsibilities are not intended to be complete or all-inclusive and does not preclude management from assigning other or related functions.)
  • Manage a number of reunion and non-reunion classes to encourage annual giving and reunion attendance
  • Identify, recruit and engage volunteers for class outreach and/or solicitation
  • Manage a portfolio of assigned prospects to visit personally or work with other staff to coordinate a cultivation/solicitation/stewardship visit
  • Oversee the reunion fundraising program
  • Work with our Class Representatives and oversee our volunteer program
  • Manage all Blair Fund-related tech platforms, i.e. GiveCampus
  • Alongside the Director of Alumni Relations, manage the Blair alumni social media platforms
  • Oversee all GiveCampus fundraising campaigns in collaboration with the team
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree is required. For the Assistant Director role, candidates must have 1–3 years of fundraising experience, preferably in Annual Giving. The Associate Director role requires a minimum of 3 years of fundraising experience, preferably in Annual Giving. Database experience with Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud NXT and GiveCampus is a plus
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Zoom and email marketing platforms
  • Ability to travel and attend evening and weekend events when necessary
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of independent schools and philanthropy
  • Demonstrated initiative to multitask and meet deadlines across multiple projects
  • Curiosity, creativity and growth mindset to inspire donors and colleagues to grow the Blair Fund
