Join Farnsworth Associates as a high-level associate responsible for diverse functions such as inventory management, wholesale operations, retail coordination, and marketing strategies while ensuring compliance and excellent customer service in a cannabis facility.
We are seeking a high-level associate to join our team. All Farnsworth Associates are responsible for day-to-day operations and work as a united team to ensure that the company goals are met. This includes serving customers, closing books, assisting with physical and digital intake of cannabis and non cannabis items, and wholesale & brand needs. Each Associate will have a specialty focus with unique KPIs, reporting duties, and specific ongoing responsibilities. Associates are expected to self-start, self-manage, and work together as a team of equals.
Experience working in a cannabis facility is a requirement for all associate positions. These are competitive positions that require experience in POS, cannabis sales, customer service, a foundational knowledge of MA state cannabis compliance, & METRC.
As mentioned above, Associate positions at Farnsworth are designed to have a focus area. The focus areas are as follows: Inventory, Wholesale, Marketing, Retail, & Production. There is an overlap of training and duties.
Associate, Inventory
The person in this person ensures that all THC inventory is in compliance with 935 CMR 500 regulations. They lead cycle counts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner, manage all THC and non-THC inventory, complete expiring product and waste transactions, create display items, and issue samples. They are also responsible for overseeing the process of incoming deliveries and moving those items to the sales floor.

Associate, Wholesale
The person in this role must plays a key part in moving product from our facility to our retail partners across the state as well as acting as a liaison between the retail operation and production team. They assist in packaging, QA checks to ensure the highest quality, METRC transactions, and uptake.

Associate, Retail
The Retail associate is responsible for scheduling, payroll, staff coordination, team morale and training, merchandising and displays. The person in this role is detail oriented and has impeccable customer service skills

Associate, Marketing
The person in this person is tasked with collaborating with brands, scheduling promotions and activations, managing the online menu, collaborating on socials, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Successfully open and close the building as needed
- Arm and disarm the building, monitor real time security, and ensure all doors are locked at the end of the night
- Determine breaks schedule and initial location of present retail staff
- Determine delegation and order of effective operations
- Set up showroom for opening, manage devices, and tills as needed
- Close the books at the end of the shift and send detailed nightly reporting
- Manage THC items and adhere to compliance needs, this may include storing items inside the vault at the end of the shift, removing items from the displays, setting up processes to store items in the showroom, etc.

- Resolve system errors and issues with payment, this may include changing payment methods, voiding transactions, fixing system errors
- Assist in transitionary periods of POS systems or onboarding new payment methods
- Facilitate change drop off
- Balance the safe as needed
- Manage transactional discrepancies as needed
- Provide leadership and directives to team
- Determine and execute break schedule and placement of present team members
- Monitor staff’s schedule and activities: manage job expectations, deadlines, completion of tasks and checklists
- Motivate sales associates to provide friendly and prompt service
- Encourage all employees to meet and exceed company’s goals and objectives on a daily basis

- Ensure that building is adequately staffed at all times throughout a shift
- Support managers with customer service, customer complaints, product faults, or other issues
- Communicate effectively; This may include holding meetings, emailing information, or utilizing Connecteam
- Follow all SOPs and company guidelines to set a strong example for the team

- Management of all cannabis product and accessories inventory in compliance with 935 CMR 500
- Manage inventory discrepancies including transpose sales, initial product setup errors, editing sales receipts, etc
- Properly label and store all product in compliance with 935 CMR 500
- Participate in Open to Buy procedures
- Participate in regularly scheduled interdepartmental meetings
- Send the daily, weekly, and monthly reporting including but not limited to operations report, expiring material, how did you hear about us, ect
- Monitor and manage expiring material
- Manage cannabis display items in the showroom
- Manage the process of distributing samples to staff members
- Ensure the accuracy of all deliveries and wholesale orders including but not limited to the count, labeling accuracy, expiration date, METRC details such as combining like packages based on Sample Package or creating transfer manifests and final PO verification
- Build out product details in FEQ sheet, Dutchie, and Metrc
- Oversee intake process from delivery to sale, including PO Approval
- Help to complete the first step of the product ordering process: Open to Buy
- Confirm all products that are delivered internally and externally are accurate and compliant
- Follow through with suppliers and vendors regarding intake or wholesale discrepancies, respectively, until a resolution is reached or corrective action has been taken
- Coordinate deliveries with internal stakeholders, deliveries from third party suppliers and shipment to wholesale accounts
- Schedule wholesale pick up and deliveries
- Manage quality control and fulfillment for wholesale (labels, shipment, and transactions), manufacturing products, floor samples
- Manage intake and wholesale documents both physically and digitally
- Verify and adjust time punches
- Manage any customer complaints as needed
- Ensure completion of daily store processes
- Maintain understanding of sales goals to help drive revenue
- Analyze customer reactions and market trends to anticipate product needs
- Remain up to date with industry’s best practices
- Maximize customer interest and sales levels by displaying Farnsworth products appropriately
- Manage THC items and adhere to compliance needs

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This position is non-exempt, and eligible for overtime pay. This job requires hours outside of "normal business hours." This position does require evening and weekend work. Please confirm with the supervisor regarding the expected working schedule.
