What We’re Looking For: We are seeking an experienced business attorney to join our growing business department. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business law, excellent communication skills, and a desire to play an integral role in the firm’s growth. This position offers the opportunity to engage with clients, lead significant legal matters, and contribute to the firm’s public presence through social media and podcasting initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Handle a variety of business law matters, including mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, corporate law, and regulatory licensing.
• Represent clients in civil litigation and arbitration matters, such as shareholder disputes, collections, and breach of contract.
• Collaborate with the team to develop and implement growth strategies for the business department.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and prospects.
• Actively participate in marketing efforts, including creating and sharing content on social media and contributing to the firm’s podcast to deliver value to our ideal clients.
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to a positive, collaborative workplace culture.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Michigan and in good standing.
• 10 to 15 years of experience in business law, with significant experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, and civil litigation.
• Strong knowledge of Michigan state regulatory licensing processes, particularly in commercial cannabis and liquor licensing.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for helping small business entrepreneurs succeed.
• Interest and experience in social media, podcasting, or other content creation is a strong plus.

Pay: $85,388.00 - $95,609.00 per year
