QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education, or related discipline; 3 years of relevant experience with fraternities and/or sororities; knowledge of higher education administration and university regulations.

Advise Greek governing bodies, coordinate university-wide events, develop leadership training programs, assist in student conduct processes, provide crisis intervention, supervise student workers, and represent Student Life on committees.

SHORT DESCRIPTION
The Associate Director of Student Life will support Greek chapters and student organizations, manage events, and promote leadership development at the University of Central Arkansas.
Student Life is home to 19 national/international fraternities and sororities and approximately 175 Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs). Student Life provides leadership, training, and engagement to all RSOs and hosts or partners with several university-wide events including: Welcome Week Activities, Greek Speak, Family Weekend, Homecoming, Purple Society Recognition Ceremony, Leadership Summit, Greek Summit, Student Involvement/Greek Awards and more.
- Advise one or more of the following fraternity/sorority governing bodies: Panhellenic Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, Interfraternity Council, United Greek Council, Greek Alumni Advisory Board, Greek Judicial Board, and/or Order of Omega.
- Assist with the coordination of Welcome Week activities, Family Weekend, Greek programs, Homecoming, Student Involvement/Greek Awards, and other campus-wide initiatives.
- Design, implement, and evaluate leadership development training through retreats, institutes, workshops and programs for fraternity and sorority members and community constituents.
- Establish, disseminate, and interpret University policies and procedures as they pertain to the fraternity and sorority community.
- Identify mechanisms to regularly assess needs, satisfaction and learning outcomes of members of fraternities and sororities.
- Assist in the creation, revision and distribution of publications, marketing materials, websites, and social media for Student Life.
- Coordinate with the service and volunteerism to engage and track fraternity and sorority service opportunities and hours through GivePulse.
- Provide assistance to the Office of the Dean of Students in the conduct adjudication process for RSOs and fraternities/sororities.
- Provide emergency response and crisis intervention to the campus community when needed.
- Provide supervision to graduate assistants, practicum students, interns, and/or student workers.
- Represent Student Life and Greek Life on committees, task forces, working groups, special initiatives and professional associations as appropriate.
- Serve as a liaison with Housing and Residence Life regarding on-campus Greek housing.
- Serve as an active member of the Division of Student Affairs and attend appropriate University functions and campus events to help maintain the visibility and approachability of Student Life.
- Research, implement, and assess best practices, student development theory, and other professional approaches in all aspects of work.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Understanding and appreciation for the fraternity and sorority community on both a local and national level, and the ability to articulate this to various internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability and willingness to function as a member of a team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations.
- Master’s degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education, or other relevant discipline.
- Three (3) years of relevant experience.
- Experience with fraternities and/or sororities.
- Membership with a (inter)national fraternity or sorority.
- Experience advising sororities/fraternities and their governing councils (IFC, PHA, NPHC, MGC).
- Experience with CampusLabs Engage, GivePulse, and/or other comparable software platform(s).
- Experience developing and facilitating trainings, retreats, and presentations.
- Experience planning and executing large scale programs.
- Experience in creating new innovative programs that increase student engagement.
- Experience with assessment and evaluation for student learning and satisfaction.
