The Associate Product Manager will play a critical supporting role in the development and management of product categories, including Notions and others as needed. Reporting to the Senior Category Manager, Notions, this role is ideal for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual looking to grow their product management skills while contributing to the success of multiple product lines. This position will work cross-functionally with teams such as Marketing, R&D, Sales, and Operations to ensure the successful execution of product initiatives and drive business growth.

Job Responsibilities

  • Product Lifecycle Management:
    • Support the Senior Category Manager in managing the full lifecycle of products, from concept to launch and post-launch optimization.
    • Assist with product setup and maintenance in systems, including specifications, pricing, and packaging details.
  • Market Research & Analysis:
    • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive insights.
    • Analyze sales and performance data to provide actionable recommendations for product improvements and new opportunities.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., R&D, Marketing, Operations) to ensure alignment and successful execution of product initiatives.
    • Serve as a key point of contact for coordinating projects and resolving day-to-day product management tasks.
  • New Product Development:
    • Assist in the development of new product concepts, business cases, and specifications.
    • Partner with the Senior Category Manager to ensure new products align with category strategy and customer needs.
  • Product Marketing Support:
    • Work with the marketing team to develop product packaging, promotional materials, and go-to-market strategies.
    • Support the creation of training and sales enablement tools for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Administrative & Operational Support:
    • Manage timelines and deliverables for product launches and key initiatives.
    • Ensure all product data, including specifications and pricing, is accurate and up to date across systems and tools.
7. Customer & Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Gather feedback from customers, sales teams, and other stakeholders to identify pain points and opportunities for product improvements.
  • Support presentations to internal teams and external partners as needed.

You Bring (requirements, preferred skills):

  • 1–3 years of experience in product management, marketing, or a related field (experience in consumer goods preferred).
  • Exposure to cross-functional collaboration and project management.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Detail-oriented with superior organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; experience with project management tools is a plus.
  • Passion for consumer-focused products; knowledge of the sewing, crafting, or notions industry is a plus.
  • A self-starter with a growth mindset, eager to learn and develop in the product management field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

You will need to be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation, including:

  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, copier/printer etc as well as have the ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Required to retrieve or reposition products like sewing machines weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Any additional physical requirements
