QUALIFICATIONS

Position Summary:
Assists General Counsel with complex legal issues and provides legal advice to hospital administration on various matters requiring legal guidance on health care; regulatory laws, fraud and abuse / compliance matters and appropriate deal and arrangement structures.
Job Requirement
Juris Doctorate degree and two (2) years of legal experience in medical legal affairs, contracts, healthcare regulatory law or related field. Experience in legal issues related to both the clinical and business operations of a hospital. Experience representing or working with a governmental entity, government relations related to compliance with local government law applicable to governmental agencies (i.e., open meeting law, public records act, state purchasing laws and budget requirements).
Licensing/Certification Requirements:
Nevada license to practice law in state court and eligibility to practice law before the federal and appellate courts of the State of Nevada. Valid class C Nevada Driver's License.
Additional and/or Preferred Position Requirements
PREFERENCES WILL BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WHO DOCUMENT THE FOLLOWING:
- Minimum of two (2) years of litigation experience in medical malpractice, premises liability, or employment law.
- Minimum of two (2) years of litigation experience in guardianship and probate.

Skill in:
Clear presentation of facts, evidence and precedents relating to complex cases in the form of briefs, opinions, orders or decisions; ability to analyze complex legal problems and apply legal principles and practices; understand and interpret constitutional provisions, statues, administrative regulations and precedents; researching, interpreting, applying, and explaining applicable laws, codes, regulations and court decisions; providing leadership; making effective decisions; negotiating; solving problems; applying statistical and other analytical methods; conducting and chairing meetings; prioritizing and coordinating among competing demands and meeting critical deadlines; developing and monitoring budgets; compiling and summarizing information and preparing periodic or special reports related to the work of the court; communicating effectively in both oral and written forms; using computers and related software applications; communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, vision to read printed materials and a VDT screen, and hearing and speech to communicate effectively in-person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or an eligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
