Seeking an experienced Audit Supervisor/Manager to lead audit engagements, communicate with clients, and contribute to the growth of a full-service CPA firm in a supportive environment.

The Opportunity
PKF San Diego, a full-service CPA firm with 45 employees, is seeking to fill the position for an Audit Supervisor/Manager to join our growing team. This experienced individual will have the opportunity to work on audits and reviews of private and public companies, in addition to employee benefit plans of various sizes and industries. As an Audit Supervisor/Manager you will work directly with partners, collaborate with members of the audit team, and communicate directly with clients. Required fieldwork will be mostly local, with the rare occasion of out-of-town travel. The AUDIT SUPERVISOR/MANAGER is responsible for overseeing and managing the auditing process for clients, ensuring audits are conducted thoroughly and in compliance with relevant standards and regulations. This position plays a key role in leading audit teams, interacting with clients, and ensuring the quality of audit reports. What You’ll Do
  • Manage the audit process by
    • Overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of audit engagements.
    • Ensuring the audits are completed on time and within budget.
    • Reviewing work papers, financial statements, and audit reports for accuracy and compliance.
    • Identifying potential risks and control weaknesses and recommending solutions.
  • Ensure quality control and compliance.
  • Prepare reporting, including findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Be the primary point of contact for clients throughout the audit process, discussing findings, resolving issues.
  • Supervise associates and senior associates across all projects.
  • Schedule and manages workload of associates and senior associates.
  • Train associates and senior associates in the use of current software tools.
  • Deliver on-the-job training to enhance team skills.
  • Provide constructive verbal and written performance feedback to associates and senior associates.
  • Act as a career advisor, mentoring associates, and senior associates.
  • Organize and facilitate effective external CPE training sessions at least once a year.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of firm regulations and guidelines outlined in the quality control manuals.
  • Assist with other Company administration and marketing activities as assigned.
  • Prioritize the firm’s interests over client interests when resolving issues.
Your Skills + Experience
  • Over 6 years of audit experience in a large local, regional, or national firm.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Strong accounting skills.
  • Prior supervisory experience, required.
  • Ability to effectively delegate work as needed.
  • Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills as well as decision-making skills.
  • Poses solid collaborative skills, thriving in team settings.
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in developing and leading a team of audit professionals.
  • Skilled in building and nurturing relationships with both firm and client personnel, effectively interacting with professionals at all levels.
  • Committed to fostering a positive team atmosphere during engagements and supporting the professional growth of team members.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail is essential.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word.
  • Experience with Prosystems fx Engagement and CCH Axcess is a plus.

Compensation
  • $100,000 - $150,000 based on experience and qualifications
