Seeking a strategic Brand Director for Marquee's Home vertical to lead brand strategies for notable brands, ensure growth and profitability, and manage relationships with licensing partners and retailers.

Brand Director, Home Brands – New York, NY (Hybrid)

Marquee Brands is seeking a self-starter, strategic thinker who is both highly analytical and creative. The Brand Director will have a demonstrated track record of developing brand strategies, promoting brand growth and expansion, implementing brand plans, and using a variety of data to achieve business objectives. They will closely manage brand partners and retailer relationships in a licensed business model to achieve brand revenue and EBIT goals. The Brand Director will lead brand strategies in Marquee’s Home vertical, including brands such as Martha Stewart, Sur La Table and Laura Ashley.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Drive brand strategies to realize profitable growth: In partnership with Marquee leadership and with licensees, develop highly detailed revenue-driving and brand-elevating category plans. Have a high level of accountability in driving business results and achieving financial plans.
  • Manage strong licensing partnerships: Expertly lead relationships with key manufacturing and retail partners, ensuring excellence in collaboration across all touch points across the business. Be the main liaison between the licensing partners, internal Marquee, and external partners.
  • Collaborate with Licensees for assortment development, designs, development calendars, and product approvals. Ensure all associate deliverables are completed on time.
  • Partner with Marquee’s marketing teams and licensees to support the execution of brand marketing and PR strategies.
  • Identify insights and opportunities through research and data; be exceptionally curious. Be the expert on the customer, the market, and the competition for assigned categories.
  • Maintain knowledge of market conditions regarding price, resources, and fashion as they relate to trends and key items and react accordingly to impact sales.
  • Partner with legal teams to understand key deal terms and ensure that material partner deal terms are adhered to, updated, and accurately filed.
  • Establish and maintain brand budgets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

  • Project management experience, with a solid understanding of project management principles and techniques

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Merchandising, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; or equivalent education
  • 6+ years of buying, merchandising, brand management, or comparable experience in a multi-channel or online retail environment or within a licensed brand model
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills, with prior experience working with senior management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Comfortable working within data-rich software platforms
  • Strong product knowledge in home space
  • Prior experience with licensing & wholesale partnerships
  • Ability to travel if needed

Salary: $100,000 - $130,000
