SHORT DESCRIPTION

The Brand Manager will drive the commercial plans for BISSELL's Wash business, overseeing product launches, marketing strategies, and maintaining business performance through consumer insights and competitive analysis.

Overview:
POSITION SUMMARY

The Brand Manager position is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, family owned company that is a leader in the small appliances industry. The candidate will play a key role in the development and implementation of global product innovation and marketing strategy on one of BISSELL’s fast growing and strategically important businesses. The Brand Manager will be the category lead for our Wash business working closely with other departments to launch and commercialize new products and manage our current business. They will have the opportunity to be involved in consumer insights work, which is used to shape our go-to-market strategies, marketing communication and innovation. This role will experience the thrill driving the commercial plans for a fast growing business inclusive of channel management strategy, pricing and promotion planning and P&L management. This position requires strong analytical skills, experience managing retailer assortment and category business results for consumer products, and a BA/BS in marketing or related field of study. Candidates must demonstrate proven experience with consumer program development, line extension development and sales, as well as leadership of cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:
Position Profile
  • In conjunction with category associate director and sales, develops line objectives and channel management and distribution strategies. Work with key accounts to develop and improve BISSELL product line in-store productivity, gross profit and assist in maximizing customer satisfaction.
  • Develops and manages appropriate merchandising, packaging, advertising, and promotional programs, with the assistance of the communications group and account managers.
  • Analyzes, tracks and measures sales and share data to identify insights to drive business performance.
  • Monitors, measures and optimizes promotional strategy to optimize topline growth and bottom-line results.
  • Leads category business reporting to align cross functional partners in business results and identify needs continuous optimization of in market plans.
  • Monitors competitive strategic and tactical activities. Develops appropriate strategies and/or new launches.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with top management, project team members, manufacturing units, and all other Associates.
  • Works closely with other team members of the product business unit team and other support groups to meet timelines and budget objectives
  • Is available for marketing and sales projects as needed.
  • Understand and be held accountable for all the category’s goals (including profitability). In conjunction with category associate director, develop and execute tactical initiatives and implement strategy to meet or exceed these goals.
  • Understand and assist in the annual plan and update development process.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

Degree minimum: Bachelor’s degree
Specific concentration: Marketing or Business
Experience level: 4-6 years in consumer products
Experience in product development or customer marketing for consumer products
Proven experience with consumer program development, line extension development and sales
Experience leading cross-functional teams
Strong analytical skills with ability to visualize data to understand trends and tell stories
Experience developing and presenting business cases to leadership

SPECIALIZED TRAINING/EDUCATION PREFERRED

  • MBA
  • Experience managing a P&L
  • Experience with NPD, IRI, Nielsen data
