The Manager will lead digital marketing campaigns for the Epic Reads eCommerce store, ensuring authentic brand representation and driving sales while collaborating with multiple teams.
Overview:
This role is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and execution of digital marketing campaigns to drive sales for the new Epic Reads eCommerce store. Working with our DTC Brand and Product Management teams, as well as title marketers and the social content team, the Manager will own development and flawless execution of campaigns, including, but not limited to: campaign concept and strategy; title selection and promotional strategy; forecasting and inventory management; messaging and copy development; and working with digital marketing channel leaders to bring initiatives and campaigns to life. This person should be a brand expert, ensuring that all eCommerce campaigns and developments feel authentic and organic to the Epic Reads brand and voice, while working with in-house content & strategy experts to help evolve the Epic Reads brand as eCommerce becomes more integrated.
This role is based in New York City and will require someone in commutable distance to come into the office on a hybrid basis.

- Drive sales and ensure the business is meeting both net sales and contribution targets
- Concept and lead execution for campaigns, including promotional strategy and calendar, title selection, on-site merchandising, creative and messaging vision based on brand insights and direct-to-consumer best practices
- Produce and/or oversee content development associated with all eCommerce campaigns, ensuring content is aligned with the Epic Reads brand
- Work with content & strategy teams to further develop the Epic Reads brand as eCommerce becomes a major pillar
- Partner with digital marketing platforms to execute on campaigns and initiatives across email, SMS, social media and paid marketing with an eye towards leveraging best practices, constant testing and iteration to optimize performance
- Lead visual and written messaging, including execution for messaging and copy development for on-site, email, SMS, social media and performance marketing
- Forecasting and inventory management for key titles
- Promotional and pricing strategies and execution
- Support strategic vision and planning process to develop and meet KPIs
- Support strategic discussions and campaign planning processes
- Lead regular and ad hoc analytics reviews and reporting
- A minimum of 3 years of digital marketing experience within an eCommerce/direct-to-consumer setting, ideally with Shopify Plus experience.
- Experience working across digital marketing platforms including, but not limited to, social media, email and SMS marketing and performance marketing.
- Experience with brand development & strategy
- Experience developing and creating eCommerce campaigns in a B2C setting
- Deep understanding of eCommerce analytics and KPIs; able to interpret the data and develop actionable insights from it
- Experience in brand marketing and campaign development
- Experience in messaging and copy development
- Experience in basic project management and execution
- Familiarity with P&L ownership and sales channel responsibilities
Knowledge/Skills:
- Comfortable with data, with a nuanced understanding of how data informs eCommerce strategy
- Understand fundamentals of eCommerce and digital sales, and how different digital marketing channels drive value within the eCommerce ecosystem.
- Familiarity with book publishing and the Epic Reads audience is a plus.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Creative problem solver, with a strong attention to detail
- Agile mindset, with the ability to pivot calendars, strategies and plans to ensure relevance and resonance
- Ability to translate strategy into brand-specific tactics and communication points
- Strong cross-channel analytics capabilities, particularly being able to synthesize and analyze data points across channels. Specific experience with Google Analytics is a plus.
