Seeking a customer-focused sales manager to develop sales and marketing plans, enhance revenue, and grow market share in a busy hotel setting.

We're looking for an active customer-focused team player with exceptional sales skills to be the next sales manager at our busy hotel. You'll be in charge of developing a sales and marketing plan that includes soliciting new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue targets via outside sales calls, on-site visits and sales tours, and community networking. This energetic leader will be able to enhance revenue by researching local market trends and competition behavior to discover and close business leads.   • Establish and grow our market share by developing and maintaining relationships with major group and catering clients
  • Represent property at appropriate travel industry trade shows and conferences while adhering to the guidelines of the marketing plan and budget
  • Increase new business and accelerate revenue generation by cold calling, on-site visits, and sales tours, as well as engaging your local community network
  • Plan and compile the department budget in accordance with the hotel's overall sales objectives and strategy, with the assistance of the director of sales and marketing
  • Study and research local market trends and competitor activity to discover potential leads
  • Establish and grow our market share by developing and maintaining relationships with local negotiated accounts and national accounts.
  • Uncover major group and catering clients within the local market to pass on to sales office for contracting and servicing.
Qualifications:
  • Understands how to communicate, negotiate, and network effectively
  • Outstanding organizational skills and time management
  • 3 or more years of experience in sales management or in a leadership role in the sales department, preferably in hospitality
  • Must have previous sales experience working in the hospitality industry
  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED and a bachelor’s degree in business or a similar major is desired
  • 2 or more years of experience in a metro Indianapolis/Carmel hotel sales position.
