Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management, or related field; 5-7 years of related experience in a technology environment, including 2-3 years as a Business Analyst; Pipeline experience and understanding of NAESB standards preferred.

Seeking a Business Analyst in Houston to gather requirements, communicate with stakeholders, and support IT projects within the Oil and Gas industry.

Our client is looking for exceptional Business Analyst to join their team in Houston, Tx.

Business Analyst- W2
Contract- 12 months- Extendable.
Location - Houston Tx-Downtown- 5 days a week onsite.
Oil and Gas industry


Experience in Pipeline Industry would be added advantage.

The Business Analyst primary responsibility will be gathering system requirements, communicating with key stakeholders, and writing functional specification documents. This position resides within IT but will work closely with Commercial Ops Stakeholders to identify requirements and gaps. The Business Analyst is a team player with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The Business Analyst must demonstrate a strong desire for quality and attention to detail with excellent problem solving and organizational skills.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility is to gather requirements, write and maintain functional specs from inception through Stakeholder approval
  • Organizes and lead requirements gathering sessions
  • Work with Business Analyst Team to track requirements and identify Gaps
  • Assist with timely resolution of critical project issues through issue tracking, resolution, and management escalation
  • Ability to write test scripts, assist with functional testing and manage Testing Phase
  • Collaborate with developers, testers or other project team members
  • Maintain relationships with IT and Commercial Ops Stakeholders

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management, or related field
  • 5-7 years of related experience in a technology environment, including two to three years of professional experience as a Business Analyst
  • Pipeline experience good to have.
  • Understanding of NAESB standards
  • Knowledge of Marketing System functionality, including:
    • Nominations/Confirmations/Allocations
    • Scheduling
    • Invoicing
    • Contract setup
    • Capacity Release
