THE OPPORTUNITY

Modo Labs is seeking a motivated and dynamic Business Development Representative to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our existing Senior Business Development Representative to source and qualify new logo leads that meet our ideal customer profile (ICP). You will be key in expanding our sales pipeline by identifying and engaging with prospective clients, qualifying leads, and scheduling high-quality meetings for our account executives. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator, skilled at navigating organizational directories, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

This is a remote position that can be performed from anywhere in the continental U.S.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with Senior Business Development Representative to develop strategies for sourcing and qualifying new logo leads.
  • Generate new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound outreach efforts.
  • Understand customer needs and requirements to identify and qualify potential sales opportunities.
  • Qualify inbound inquiries to assess fit and readiness for sales team follow-up.
  • Schedule quality meetings between target buyer personas and account executives for further development/closure.
  • Research and source target accounts, identify key players, and generate interest in our offerings.
  • Partner with the sales team to develop effective account strategies.
  • Maintain and expand the database of prospects within the assigned territory.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to build a robust sales pipeline and close deals (e.g., partners).
  • Work with sales engineers to conduct effective online demos for prospective clients.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed weekly and monthly goals for scheduled meetings, opportunities created, and outreach activities.

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of inside sales or business development experience. Experience in the Higher Education sector a plus.
  • Strong listening and presentation skills, with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Great organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and embraces a growth mindset. Adaptable, creative, resourceful, and proactive problem-solving to drive impactful results.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce.com, Outreach, and ZoomInfo for lead management and research.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Attractive compensation package including equity: The base hiring range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 plus variable compensation. This range is considered a national average determined by the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this role. Starting compensation will be commensurate with an individual's background, experience, and location and may vary. This position is also for variable compensation including commissions.

  • Quarterly Stipend: $500 per quarter stipend to cover Internet, mobile phone, office parking, office transportation, office equipment, technology hardware (excluding laptop), etc.
