We seek a motivated and ambitious Business Development Representative to join our team and sell our automated intellectual property services portfolio to law firms and companies.

Your mission is to drive sales growth by generating new opportunities for our portfolio of AI-powered IP services, including intellectual property docketing, paralegal, proofreading, analytics, and annuity management services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prospect Identification & Qualification: Research and identify IP Law Firms and in-house legal teams at mid-sized to enterprise-level companies that align with Black Hills AI’s growth strategies. Use advanced tools (LinkedIn Sales Navigator, HubSpot, etc.) to target high-potential clients within our ideal customer profiles.
- Lead Generation & Outreach: Design and execute creative outreach campaigns using email, LinkedIn, phone, and other channels. Consistently engage with prospects to introduce Black Hills AI’s innovative solutions and create initial interest.
- Lead Qualification: Employ the BANT (Budget, Authority, Need, Timing) framework to evaluate potential clients and qualify leads that match Black Hills AI’s service offerings.
- Pipeline Development & Management: Maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified prospects, ensuring that top-of-funnel activity leads to measurable business opportunities. Keep all records updated in HubSpot to track engagement and progress.
- Collaborative Sales Strategy: Partner with the marketing and sales teams to shape lead generation strategies and ensure seamless handoff of qualified leads to senior sales executives.
- Contribute to Overall Growth Strategy: Offer strategic input to improve the business development process, suggesting new tools, techniques, or campaigns that enhance lead generation and conversion.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience: 2+ years in business development or sales, preferably in a tech, marketing-focused, or digital solutions environment. Prior experience selling to law firms and in-house legal teams is highly preferred.
- Sales Acumen: Proven track record in lead generation, prospecting, and meeting sales quotas. Experience in using HubSpot and sales automation platforms is preferred.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas and present them clearly to potential clients.
- Tech-savvy: Familiarity with digital tools and automation solutions, eager to stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Self-Starter: Highly motivated, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. You are goal-oriented and have a “hunter” mentality when driving new business.
- Team Player: Collaborative approach with the ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and technical teams to drive results.
- Growth Mindset: Coachable with a passion for personal and professional development. You value feedback and are eager to grow in your role.
Compensation:
- Base Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 annually.
- Commission: $24,000 target tied to achieving quarterly Sales KPI targets. There’s no cap on commissions.
