Compensation
Annual salary. Range: $50,000 - $65,000 USD

Job Description
Our Business Development Specialist is at the center of the company’s growth, expansion, and development. You will help create business strategy initiatives working in cooperation with the members of the Special Projects team. You will help lead and influence the strategic, operational, and tactical levels business concepts and rollouts. The position’s primary responsibility is to create and grow revenue through new business opportunities, partnerships, and sponsorships. The hired individual is a thought leader working within the department and the CEO to counsel, coach, develop, and advise on actionable strategies that will help the portfolio expand and succeed. To be successful in this role, you will be aggressive and assertive as a self-starter, using existing relationships, its network of colleagues, market analysis, and active outreach.
Duties will include (but are not limited to)
· Seek out new business opportunities, relationships, and partners to align with the company’s vision and grow revenue.
· Develop, coordinate and implement plans designed to increase existing businesses and expand current market share.
· Use data and reports to make data-based decisions on behalf of company.
· Create and present regular briefings to CEO and Special Projects Director, as well as an annual report to company at conclusion of the fiscal year.
· Evaluate existing partnerships and sales efforts with an eye toward building on what works and changing what doesn’t.
· Manage key client relationships while working aggressively to build new ones.
· Leads sales, marketing, customer-service, and client relationship management teams.
· Develop and strengthen internal and external relationships that will lead to increased lead generation and market share.
· Builds cross-functional teams to guide and nourish sustainable, long-term growth.
· Track and study emerging markets and trends to consult management on how to position company for continued success.
· Foster and work to maintain an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the company and across all teams and work functions.
· Identifies and recommends new services that the company could employ.
· Help to shape the company’s long-term objectives and determine plans for how to meet them.
· Research and identify new markets for corporate growth and penetration.
· Identify sponsorship opportunities, including nonprofit and community engagement.
· Conduct webinars and presentations to raise the brand or product profile.
· Negotiate contracts with new partners and business opportunities.
· Travels, as needed, to meet and secure new accounts and attend meetings, conferences or conventions.
· Fulfill requests for proposals (RFPs) from potential partners and customers.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Prefer 4+ years of professional, business development experience. Bachelor's degree in business administration, business management, marketing, or a related field. MBA is preferred but not required. Proven experience in business development, strategic planning, and sales, preferably in a leadership or management level role. Strong understanding of market dynamics, industry trends, and competitive landscape. Demonstrated success in identifying and closing new business opportunities. Experience with Salesforce CRM is required. Candidate should be a hands-on, confident, aggressive, self-starting, outgoing, inspired, analytical, organized, process-oriented individual with superior communication skills. Must have good phone skills, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to participate right from the start. Familiarity with Office 365 (word, excel, powerpoint, outlook and other similar platforms), Sharepoint, and other related programs is a plus. Candidate should be able to work in a home office environment. Travel will be required to support the needs of the company including attending events, conferences, meetings, and the like. The role will include some work on nights, weekends, and some holidays to meet the business need.
