Role Overview:
The California Senior Campaign Director is the leading role for designing, coordinating, and managing product launch and sales strategy responsive to state adoption opportunities. This role is charged with integrating and coordinating Marketing, Sales, and Success approaches, shaping and managing a unified product launch and a unified approach to the customer, amidst these unique moments of opportunity and change. While this role does not replace reporting relationships within pre-existing teams, the Senior Director manages activities across multiple teams – Marketing, Sales, Research, Product and Success – to ensure effective state go-to-market strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with marketing and research to collect and synthesize market insights to steer segmentation, prioritization, and market hypotheses.
Lead and coordinate efforts across Product, Sales, Marketing, and Success teams to develop and execute a statewide product launch and go-to-market strategy, including the company’s positioning, key narrative, engagement tactics, and sales tactics.
Develop key performance indicators across lead generation, consideration, sales, and implementation phases of the customer lifecycle for a given statewide product launch.
Assure that field teams and central support teams are in place to execute strategy and to achieve key performance targets across the customer journey
Adapt strategy to accommodate customer insights, policy changes, and other sources of external input gathered through ongoing effort to understand state and local context.
Assure constant improvement of Marketing, Sales, and Success team performance through routine review of performance against key performance indicators.
Alongside regional marketing, sales, and success leaders, develop and maintain strong relationships with key state education stakeholders, including state departments of education, curriculum decision-makers, and district leaders.
7+ years of experience in education, edtech, or a related field, with significant experience managing state adoption processes. 5+ years in a cross-functional leadership role is required.
Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to drive results in a matrixed environment. Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Proven track record of successfully executing complex go-to-market strategies.
Deep understanding of the Texas adoption landscape, including California state regulatory requirements and stakeholder dynamic.
Ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
Experience building campaign strategy – help to create and vet the state level presentations and work with marketing counterparts in building campaign and assets.
A track record of effectively collaborating with the policy team and external partners to align with specific state requirements. In addition, collaborating across Product, Marketing, Sales and Success to identify our most addressable market segments, and strategically position ourselves against competitors to enhance our go-to-market strategy.
Must be based in California with an ability to travel up to 25%
The expected base salary range for this position is $187,000-$201,000 however the offered salary may be higher or lower than the above range dependent on numerous factors including, but not limited to location, work experience, skills and internal equity considerations. The base salary is not inclusive of benefits or other incentives.
