The Capital Campaign Manager plans and manages campaign operations, ensuring accurate reporting and support for fundraising efforts within The Salvation Army in Columbus, Georgia.
Position Type: Full Time (Exempt)
Rate of Pay: $53,000 - $55,000
About this opportunity:
Plans and manages the day-to-day administration and reporting of all aspects of Command’s campaign activity. A primary focus for the Capital Campaign Manager is systematizing the campaign administrative operations, ensuring nimble, accurate production of reports, analytics and materials supporting the campaign and the campaign team. This requires responsiveness, adaptability, and accuracy, tracking many details within a fast-paced workflow.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversees all aspects of campaign tracking and reporting, including, but not limited to, prospect management, pipeline management, donor recognition and stewardship, and secured naming opportunities.
- Monitors, analyzes, and reports on campaign metrics and benchmarks on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis to Commanding Officer and Divisional Development Director.
- Prepares monthly campaign reports to send to Divisional and Territorial Headquarters.
- Works with Command finance team to reconcile campaign gifts, pledge payments, and expenses monthly and reports results to Commanding Officer and Divisional Development Director.
- Works with Donors Services and Finance teams to ensure that monthly pledge reminders are distributed to donors consistently. Monitors subsequent pledge collections to ensure they are on track through completion of collection schedule.
- Works with Commanding Officer and Divisional Development Director to monitor project benchmarks for the campaign are on track and reports back to the campaign team.
- Maintains campaign dashboard and prospect pipeline to ensure accurate reporting on all capital campaign progress to Commanding Officer and Divisional Development Director.
- Develops and maintains a current detailed knowledge of The Salvation Army’s Southern Territory capital campaign policies.
- Ensures that database and records are updated regularly so that prospect pipelines are accurate, and donor activity is properly recorded.
- Ensures that all capital campaign-related files, records and correspondence are maintained as required by Salvation Army policy.
- Maintains an updated list of naming opportunities—both available and secured.
- Working with Commanding Officer or Capital Campaign Coordinator, prepares lists and meeting materials for campaign committee and campaign team meetings.
- Serves as liaison with the Property Department for capital campaign information and/or assistance.
- Serves as liaison with select campaign vendors.
- Oversees and conducts prospect research and creates prospect profiles and prospect action plans to be used by campaign team and volunteers.
- Maintains and monitors campaign strategy and calendar of activity to ensure that plans are on time and on track.
- Coordinates with Administrative and Development leadership relative to the campaign.
- Manages campaign calendar and coordinates team calendars for meetings, prepare and distribute agendas and as requested, organize individual donor visit coordination.
- Consults with the Divisional Development Director and Regional Resource Development Director on a regular basis for information with respect to Salvation Army polices, needs, programs and goals which may affect areas of responsibility and implement same by appropriate action.
- Notifies the Commanding Officer when conflict with existing policy appears likely or where policy changes seem merited.
- Develops and maintains efficient office procedures.
- Maintains a working knowledge of Salvation Army Orders and Regulations, official policy directives and service programs relating to the area of work described.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or a related field.
- At least three years’ experience performing fundraising, marketing, and/or sales; major gift fundraising is preferred.
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Valid Driver’s License
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and time constraints. Ability to travel to various locations in order to develop personal relationships with volunteers and other stakeholders. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
