Summary

LOCATION

Remote with travel required up to 35% of the time to the Corporate Office in Plymouth, WI and with Sales Team Members throughout the United States.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, Food Marketing, or related field required; MBA preferred. Minimum 2 years’ experience in Category Management, Trade Marketing, or similar role in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) Industry required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and execute category strategies and trade marketing plans, analyze market trends and category performance, evaluate trade promotions, collaborate with sales and marketing teams, utilize data analytics for insights, and advocate for AI and innovation within category management.

SHORT DESCRIPTION

The Category and Trade Analyst role focuses on driving growth and enhancing market share through strategic category management and trade marketing initiatives.

SUMMARY

The Category and Trade Analyst position develops and executes category strategies and trade marketing plans that drive growth, enhance market share, and maximize profitability. This position analyzes market trends, category performance, and trade activities to provide actionable insights that optimize performance. This position is able to work remotely; travel is required as business needs dictate, up to 35% of the time; as needed to the Corporate Office in Plymouth, WI and with Sales Team Members through out the United States.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Category Management

  • Analyzes market trends, consumer insights, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for category growth.
  • Informs category strategies that align with overall business objectives.
  • Monitors category performance metrics and adjusts strategies as needed.

Trade Marketing

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of trade promotions and recommend improvements.
  • Tracks trade budget and helps sales optimize spend
  • Supports marketing execution with the sales team.
  • Collaborates with sales teams to develop promotional plans.

Data Analysis

  • Utilizes data analytics tools to interpret sales data and market research.
  • Prepares regular reports on category performance and trade marketing ROI.
  • Provides actionable insights to stakeholders based on data findings.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Works closely with sales, marketing, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure alignment of strategies.
  • Coordinates with external partners, including retailers and distributors, to optimize product placement and promotions.

AI and Innovation Advocate

  • Leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies to transform how we approach category management and trade marketing, pushing our organization forward—even into uncharted, potentially uncomfortable areas.
  • Champions a forward-thinking mindset, continually seeking ways to integrate, measure, and refine these new tools and approaches to drive sustainable growth and efficiency for Sartori.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, Food Marketing, or related field required. Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Category Management, Trade Marketing, or similar role within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) Industry required.

OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Technical – Foundational understanding of how to leverage AI and/or machine learning applications in data analysis and forecasting. Comfort in data analytic and visualization tools (Excel, Power BI). Experience in advanced data processing tools is a plus.
