Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Marketing, or Business preferred, with a minimum of three years of catering sales experience. Must be customer-focused, have excellent organizational skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays required.

Manager all aspects of private catered events, respond to inquiries, prepare reports, develop catering menus, ensure excellent service, and maintain communication with clients and staff. Utilize various marketing channels to increase bookings and develop vendor profiles for customer services.

The Smoke Rise Club is seeking a Catering Sales & Marketing Manager to oversee private events, exceed revenue goals, and deliver exceptional client experiences at the Smoke Rise Village Inn.
The Smoke Rise Village Inn:
The Smoke Rise Village Inn is a public restaurant and catering facility located in the heart of a private community called Smoke Rise. Offering many catering packages, the Village Inn focuses on high quality cuisine with a tasteful presentation. Our full service a la carte restaurant offers seasonally changing menus to accommodate casual and upscale dining needs as well as monthly special events.
Position Summary:
The Smoke Rise Club, Inc. (“Club”) Village Inn Catering Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for all aspects of private catered events at the Village Inn and a variety of duties. This position must be able to solicit, negotiate and book new business while ensuring return business in order to meet or exceed revenue goals. This position requires excellent communication skills, goal oriented and initiative driven, detail oriented, in-depth follow-through, and results oriented. The Catering Sales & Marketing Manager will report to the Club’s Village Inn General Manager and will work together with the Village Inn team.
Job Duties Summary:
- Capture the client’s vision, ensuring an exceptional experience and seeding future bookings.
- Arrange, manage and facilitate all property tours and customer appointments/meetings.
- Respond to all email and phone inquiries in a timely manner while maintaining a log to allow for accurate follow-up and real-time status of all inquiries.
- Prepare, implement, and compile data for various reports such as monthly catering forecasts, and other reports as directed.
- Assists in the development of catering menus to include banquet wine lists/bar menus, pricing, catering contracts, and rental fees.
- Develop and maintain a monthly calendar, listing all existing catering events.
- Develop and maintain accurate and professional client Banquet Event Orders.
- Research and update competitive pricing on a yearly basis.
- Ensures proper management of all catered events, including, but not limited to staffing, basic set up (table placement, buffet design, bar location) and execution of the event.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain a vendor profile list to include musical entertainment, photographers and other guest services which will better assist the customer.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and staff. Work closely and communicate on a daily basis with the Dining Room Manager.
- Provide detailed communication and follow through with both the client and the in-house staff to ensure exact client expectations are met and exceeded.
- Must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills and experience in preparing and presenting effective proposals.
- Use multiple channels such as print/social media to market the Village Inn, outside calls, networking and telemarketing to solicit, negotiate and book new food and beverage business.
- Interface as needed with other departments to ensure the smooth delivery of customer service in pursuit of complete guest satisfaction.
- Have a prominent presence at all in-house events and key customer functions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Hospitality, Marketing, or Business or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum three years of catering sales experience, preferably in the hospitality or restaurant fields.
- Ability to work an extremely flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be customer focused, understand expectations of hospitality demands and trends.
- Excellent organizational skills, multitasking, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Be self-motivated, outgoing, detail-oriented, organized, and very people-oriented.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Digital Dining knowledge preferred.
- Be social media and technologically knowledgeable.
Physical Requirements:
This position will require:
- Prolonged periods of standing or walking during catering events.
- Ability to move catering objects around up to 25 pounds at times.
Schedule:
- Tuesday to Saturday
- Ability to work an extremely flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation: Base Salary Pay plus Commissions

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
