QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in business administration, communications, or sports marketing; 10+ years of experience in marketing or sports marketing; strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Equivalent experience of 15 years in social media, communications, or sports marketing may be considered.

Lead and manage the marketing department, develop and execute marketing strategies, oversee cross-channel marketing campaigns, enhance brand identity, collaborate with sales for revenue maximization, manage fiscal budgets, conduct market research, and ensure compliance with league standards.

SHORT DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for shaping the CT Sun brand through comprehensive marketing campaigns, leading a diverse team, driving fan engagement, and enhancing revenue strategies.
- Provide day-to-day strategic leadership, management and support of department leaders who head each respective function, while facilitating cross departmental collaboration throughout the organization
- Develop short and long-term marketing vision and direction and lead the team to deliver on a multi-faceted marketing and brand strategy focused on enhancing revenue
- Define and maintain strong team brand identity ensuring consistency across all marketing/advertising materials and platforms.
- Oversee the strategy of all agency and internal driven marketing, social, and public relations campaigns built to reach target demographics including but not limited to digital, SEO/SEM, organic and paid social media, OOH, OTT, email, mobile app, SMS channels.
- Work closely with sales leadership to develop strategies and campaigns to maximize corporate partnership and ticket sales revenues.
- Create unique and engaging marketing campaigns for ancillary promotions including merchandise, all-star bids, player and team end of season awards.
- Oversee and lead the integration of social media campaigns that are metric-based and targeted for growing the team following – including but not limited to ideation of long-form content, influencer strategy and viral-worthy opportunities.
- Ascertain emerging marketing technologies to leverage competitive advantages across tools and platforms.
- Develop and manage the fiscal marketing budget and allocate funds effectively across prioritized initiatives.
- Supports the integration of PR in connection with branding strategy
- Conduct market research to understand fan behavior and identify trends to make informed marketing decisions.
- Develop KPIs relevant to all departments and team members reporting up to CBO.
- Oversee social media strategies to grow audience.
- Calculates spend and return on investment for all campaigns.
- Maintain all league and property compliance requirements for industry standards.
- Negotiate contracts for all agency and technology agreements.
- Master’s degree in business administration, communications or sports marketing
- 10 + years of experience working in a marketing or sports marketing field
- Experience in a managing diverse, integrated marketing team
- Strong critical thinking and analysis capabilities.

- Strong, clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to present at all levels
- Sharp attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

- Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook
- In lieu of a degree and previously mentioned experience, 15 years of experience in social media, communications, or sports marketing will be considered.
- Knowledge of Mohegan Sun corporate and department policies and procedures
- Effective utilization of Mohegan Sun Evaluation programs
- Thorough understanding of the Mohegan Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO) as it relates to employment
- Understanding of music licensing and legal compliance
- Excellent knowledge of Time & Attendance system and Manager Self Service systems
- Knowledge of Mohegan Sun budget planning and analysis process and procedures
- Mohegan Sun CER and purchasing procedures
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Office work environment
- Overnight travel may be required
- Flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings, and some holidays to meet business needs
