DATTCO is seeking a Chief Marketing Officer to drive brand growth and marketing initiatives in a fast-growing transportation organization, reporting directly to the CEO and contributing to overall business success.

We operate through three divisions: Motorcoach (supply buses/drivers to tour operators), School Bus (operate school bus routes for local school districts), and Sales & Service (dealerships for bus and truck sales, collision repair, maintenance service, and other related support). We are a fast-growing organization with a diverse customer base, and this key role provides an opportunity for establishing our key marketing efforts across both traditional marketing channels and digital efforts to further fuel our growth.
Chief Marketing Officer Sought
As our Chief Marketing Officer, you will be responsible for driving our continued growth through the presentation of our brands and products, partnering with other business leaders to establish new services, and effective leadership of the marketing team.
You will report to the company’s CEO and will be an integral part of our senior leadership team. The position is a high visibility role in a growing organization that will have a direct impact on the success of the overall business. It is a unique opportunity to develop and lead a marketing program that will take an already successful company to the next level of sustained growth.
What you'll do here:
- Develop, manage & mentor brand, growth and customer teams into a best-in-class organization that is inspired to deliver against marketing & company goals. Give team members the tools, guidance and confidence that will create progressive career tracks for each individual contributor.
- Build a strategic marketing plan with innovative campaigns that are driven by performance and influencer marketing, creative, online & offline efforts, brand & direct marketing, as well as community building.
- Create a comprehensive cross-platform digital engagement strategy that encompasses social, email outreach, and service experience and ultimately drives significant new customer and revenue growth.
- Work with the internal technology team to establish closed-loop analytics with sales to understand how our inbound marketing activity turns into customers, and continually refine our process to convert customers. Be able to create forecasts by channel to predict where sales come from and maximize budget for the highest ROI while achieving sales goals.
- Collaborate cross functionally with internal business leaders and teams to help the organization define the marketing message and digital tools, paid media, and other efforts to further derive visibility and adoption of the Company’s products and services.
- Develop & manage the marketing budget through comprehensive demand plans that allow for optimization to ensure activities are effective, efficient and deliver successful ROI metrics.
- As a key part of the executive management team, the CMO will drive and foster true partner relationships across peer groups and business functions.
- Serve as a member of the Executive Team and advisor to the CEO on strategic and tactical business initiatives.
What you'll bring to the table:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
- 15+ years of marketing experience covering both innovative digital execution and traditional brand strategy responsibilities.
- Demonstrated experience as a lead or senior marketing executive with a $100 million plus business in the transportation, travel or related industry.
- A proven track record of growing sales, profit, and customers.
- Direct management experience and a proven track record of working across a cross-functional team.
- Ability to develop and manage marketing budgets.
- Experience managing agencies and coordinating with outside partners.
- Experience optimizing customer journey and conversion to create higher sales and repeat purchases.
