Chief Financial Strategist

We are seeking a strategic Chief Financial Strategist to join our team. Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Planning and Analysis

• Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with Sleepyhead's growth objectives, including expansion across multiple e-commerce channels.
• Analyze market trends, industry benchmarks, and internal performance data to identify growth opportunities, cost-saving initiatives, and revenue-boosting strategies.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to support decisions in inventory, marketing spend, and future expansion.

Financial Reporting and Compliance

• Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, including P&L, cash flow, and balance sheets for clear visibility into Sleepyhead's financial health.
• Ensure tax and regulatory compliance, utilizing tools like TaxJar for timely and accurate sales tax payments.
• Conduct audits of financial activities, such as invoices, inventory, and transportation costs, to mitigate discrepancies and optimize efficiency.

Operational and Systems Leadership

• Continuously enhance financial systems for greater reporting accuracy, accessibility, and efficiency.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure financial strategies align with operational goals.
• Assess and optimize financial tools like QuickBooks Online, Tableau, and other reporting solutions for data accuracy and actionable insights.

Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting

• Prepare and present financial reports to senior leadership and stakeholders, translating complex data into strategic insights.
• Advise executives on financial risks and growth opportunities, positioning Sleepyhead for sustainable success.
• Engage with auditors, tax advisors, and financial consultants to ensure compliance and manage financial reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; Master’s degree or CPA designation is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in strategic financial planning and analysis, preferably within an e-commerce or tech-driven environment.
• Proficient in financial tools like Excel (including VBA and pivot tables), QuickBooks Online, and Tableau; knowledge of Hyperion is a plus.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
• In-depth understanding of financial regulations and compliance, particularly in e-commerce finance operations.
