Child Care Center Assistant Director

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field, 3-5 years of experience in childcare, strong leadership skills, CPR and First Aid certification required, with CDA certification preferred. Knowledge of early childhood education practices and experience with CRM systems and bookkeeping are a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Build relationships to increase retention and referrals, assist with center occupancy goals, manage daily operations in the absence of the Center Director, provide support for teachers, ensure compliance with regulations, and maintain a nurturing environment for students.

As an Assistant Director, you will:
- Create strong relationships resulting in a high retention rate and referrals from staff, parents, and the community.
- Assist in achieving center occupancy goals by providing center tours and following the Lightbridge enrollment process.
- Provide a WOW customer experience to all in our Circle of Care (Children, Staff, Parents, Community, Owners).
- Build community relationships and enrollment through participation in local area marketing and execution of open houses and other marketing.
- Support a nurturing and positive learning environment encouraging children and staff to grow and develop.
- Foster a “learning is fun" environment by implementing the Lightbridge Academy program and Seedlings curriculum.
- Uphold discretion in dealing with all confidential matters and information.
- Maintain proper ratios and substitute in classrooms if necessary.
- Support all team members by example and provide mentoring and coaching.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children and staff members.
- Observe all Lightbridge Academy policies, procedures, and ensuring compliance with state licensing regulations.
- Support regularly scheduled staff meetings and trainings.
- Create and maintain a safe and nurturing environment for students
- Assumes responsibility to manage operation of the school in the Center Director’s absence.
- Assists the Center Director with the necessary management responsibilities to ensure maximum enrollment and effective cost control to generate profitability.
- Knowledge of and adheres to employment laws and compliance issues related to those laws.
- Collaborate with teachers to provide guidance and support in implementing effective teaching strategies.
- Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Communicate with parents and guardians and establish strong relationships.
- Manage the preschool budget and allocate resources effectively.
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices in early childhood education.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required.
- 3-5 years of prior experience in childcare. Management experience is a plus.
- CDA certification preferred.
- Previous experience in education administration or child care management preferred.
- Experience working with students of various ages and backgrounds.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage a team & teachers.
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Completion of CPR and First Aid certification required.
- Food Handler certification required.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Basic bookkeeping skills are a plus.
- Knowledge of CRM systems and QuickBooks are a plus.
