JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Liaison is responsible for educating healthcare professionals about hospice care, capturing high-quality hospice care referrals, and ensuring timely patient admissions. This role involves building and maintaining positive relationships with hospital and community physicians, responding to their requests and concerns, and serving as a trusted resource for hospice care information. The Clinical Liaison is accountable for new business growth and ensures compliance with all laws and regulations, including Accreditation Agencies’ standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists the Director Business Growth and Development in establishing allocations for the marketing department. Monitors allocation of resources according to budgetary limitations.
2. Educate hospital and community physicians about hospice care, including its benefits, eligibility criteria, and the referral process.
3. Capture high-quality hospice care referrals that result in patient admissions to achieve budgetary volume projections.
4. Establish and maintain positive working relationships with current and potential referral and payor sources, including physicians, hospital staff, and community healthcare providers.
5. Serve as the primary contact for physicians and healthcare providers, addressing their questions and concerns about hospice care.
6. Maintain positive working relationships with current and potential referral and payor sources.
7. Builds and monitors community, customer, payor, and patient perceptions of ECHO Hospice as a high-quality provider of services.
8. Provide leadership in strategic planning including identifying opportunities for additional or improved services to address customer needs.
9. Provide timely updates to physicians on patient status and care plans.
10. Maintain comprehensive working knowledge of ECHO Hospice markets including government agencies, major payor groups, key referral sources, and competitors’ market positioning.
11. Maintain comprehensive working knowledge in the field of marketing and shares information with appropriate organization personnel.
12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and projects.
13. Maintain comprehensive working knowledge of hospice regulations, accreditation standards, and community resources. Assist customers in accessing community resources should services not be provided by ECHO Hospice.
14. Monitor and report the cost-effectiveness of marketing and referral efforts.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN), Master of Social Work (MSW), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
2. Must be proficient in the English language.
3. At least three (3) years of experience in healthcare marketing management, preferably in hospice care operations.
4. Ability to market aggressively and deal tactfully with customers and the community.
5. Demonstrates good communication, negotiation, and public relations skills.
6. Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility, and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
1. Extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal hospice regulations, as well as Accreditation Agencies’ standards.
2. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and other local, state, and federal protected client information regulations.
3. Strong communication, negotiation, and public relations skills.
4. Understanding of the death and dying process.
5. Emotional intelligence to deal with a variety of personalities and complex situations.
6. Professional communication skills when working with employees, vendors, and all outside company contacts.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Hazardous Exposure Category: Low – exposure to blood and/or other infectious materials in liquid form is unlikely.
2. Lifting Requirements: Medium Work – exerting 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for light work.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
