Brown & Brown is Seeking a Commercial Lines New Business Marketing Specialist for Sales to join our growing team in Grand Rapids, MI.
Under direct supervision from a manager or other supervisor, the individual’s primary responsibilities are in the marketing of accounts and in providing technical backup for the underwriting and production staff. Efforts support the production of new business. Decisions are made based on direction or otherwise established guidelines.
How You Will Contribute
  • Attend carrier meetings and functions to foster solid relationships. Cultivate and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with carrier partners, ensuring alignment on strategic goals, marketing initiatives, and partnership opportunities to drive business growth.
  • Marketing new accounts according to procedures.
  • Complete coverage review with the production team.
  • Responsible for complete submissions to carriers.
  • Negotiate terms, conditions, and premiums for new accounts marketed.
  • Complete coverage comparisons as needed.
  • Prepare and evaluate all new account proposals.
  • Adherence to Brown & Brown Best Practices for compliance and documentation.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Michigan Property & Casualty License
Skills & Experience to Be Successful
  • 5+ years of experience working in a commercial lines department at an agency or company level is preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
