Job Description: Marketing and Communications Specialist

The Marketing and Communications Specialist will play a crucial role in promoting the organization’s programs and services to existing and prospective donors, community partners, and supporters. This position focuses on strategic outreach and the development of marketing materials to enhance donor management and program promotion. Key responsibilities include:

Donor Management:

  • Develop and implement strategies to engage and retain donors, ensuring effective communication and relationship building.
  • Create targeted campaigns to highlight the impact of donor contributions and maintain a robust donor database.

Program Promotion:

  • Design and execute marketing initiatives to raise awareness of the organization’s programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Utilize various channels to reach diverse audiences and showcase program successes.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with staff and the executive director to fully understand programs and communication needs.
  • Compose email and correspondence for the executive director and assist with finalizing emails and newsletters.

Campaign Development:

  • Based on assessment, draft and propose fundraising campaigns, which may include social and online media, print media, direct mail, and other multimedia.
  • Evaluate the success of campaigns when completed.

Branding and Messaging:

  • Strengthen the organization’s brand identity through consistent messaging and visual representation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment with the organization’s mission and values.

Content Creation and Design:

  • Present graphic design ideas and recommendations to the executive director and other involved staff.
  • Create and coordinate multimedia packages.

Community Engagement:

  • Foster partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders to expand the organization’s network and support base.
  • Attend fundraising events and community fairs, staffing the organization’s table.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for nonprofit work and a proven track record in marketing and communications, particularly in donor relations and program advocacy.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams to achieve common goals.
  • Ability to make strategic decisions and solve problems efficiently while considering team input and feedback
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Bilingual skills required (English/Korean, or English/Chinese)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Marketing, Non-profit Management, Journalism, Advertising, Communications, or related field.
  • 3+ years of related experience highly preferred.
  • Experiences in working with Korean or other Asian immigrant communities preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $57,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
