Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Communications Assistant to support our Communications Manager in a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing our organization's outreach and engagement. This role involves managing customer interactions, recruiting volunteer coaches, assisting with marketing efforts, and providing operational support at our sports venues. This is a remote position, with the occasional in-person responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Communication:

• Respond to customer emails and phone calls in a timely and professional manner.
• Provide information and support to enhance customer satisfaction.

Volunteer Recruitment:

• Contact and recruit volunteer coaches before the start of each season.
• Assist in developing outreach strategies to attract a diverse pool of candidates.

Marketing Support:

• Help plan and execute in-person marketing events to promote our programs and initiatives.
• Collaborate on the creation and distribution of marketing materials, including signs and flyers, and social media ads, ensuring they align with our branding.

Operational Duties:

• Assist with various operational tasks as needed, including logistics and coordination of events.
• Be present (when needed) on-site at our sports venues to support events and activities, ensuring everything runs smoothly.

Qualifications:

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Google Doc and Excel and familiarity with graphic design tools is a plus.
• Experience in customer service or volunteer coordination is preferred.
• Enthusiasm for sports and community engagement is a significant asset.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for events, when needed.
• Must be okay with flexible hours! (hours can range from 10-25 hours a week).
