Communications Coordinator Part-Time
LOCATION
Part-time position, approximately 20 hours per week, may require non-traditional office hours.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or a relevant area; minimum of two years related work experience; proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office; excellent communication skills; valid Illinois driver's license.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in creating promotional materials, copywrite campaigns, manage social media communications, capture and edit photos/videos, maintain online listings, solicit patron feedback, manage promotional inventories, assist with print production, and attend special events.

SHORT DESCRIPTION
Part-time role in the Marketing Department focused on creating promotional materials and executing marketing campaigns to achieve organizational communication goals.
This part-time position will assist the Marketing Department with the creation of high-quality promotional materials and campaigns from conception through completion while achieving the District’s communication and marketing objectives.
Hours will be approximately 20 hours per week.
Major responsibilities include the following. Other responsibilities may be assigned.
- Copywrite campaigns for marketing and advertising efforts to effectively communicate with customers across a variety of media channels
- Develop social media marketing campaigns and communication for District, facilities, and programs, responding to patron comments and messages across various social channels, including Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube & Snapchat
- Capture photos and video of programs, events, facilities, and parks for use in various print and digital media using a DSLR camera and smart phone, editing imagery & video as necessary while maintaining photo library
- Edit and add online facility, park, and event listings on search engines and local guides
- Solicit patron feedback using online surveys, social media, and digital crowd-sourcing platforms, like Google & Yelp, replying to reviews as directed
- Communicate relevant facility, event, and program information to local organizations, partners, and homeowners’ associations
- Generate messages for electronic sign at the golf course as needed and submit to local organizations for display on community signs
- Create compelling digital marketing and advertising for all District facilities and services, such as display imagery, social media graphics, short-form video
- Produce event signage and facility displays for wayfinding and critical information
- Maintain subscriber lists on email marketing platform
- Manage inventory of promotional items
- Assist with print production of marketing and advertising materials in collaboration with other departments, including but not limited to flyers, booklets, signage, cards, and passes
- Attend and assist with District special events as necessary
- Maintain technical knowledge and stay informed of industry best practices through professional networking and educational workshops
Qualifications:
- Education- Requires expertise typically acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or a relevant area.
- Experience- A minimum of two years related work experience
- Computer – Proficient with keyboard/typing skills; proficient use of applicable software in Mac operating system: Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel; Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, including but not limited to, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom; video production software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Rush, Express or similar applications; photography, including experience using DSLR camera
- Digital Marketing Platforms – Constant Contact for email marketing; Meta Business Suite, including Facebook & Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube for social media marketing; Google Business Manager & Analytics; Publitas for online publication production
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 lbs. with or without assistance.
- Valid Illinois drivers license.
May require working during non-traditional office hours and attending evening and weekend park district, community and other special interest group meetings, programs, and events. Will require occasionally working outdoors, especially during the summer and fall seasons.
This position is eligible for IMRF pension benefits. Pay is based off skills and previous experience.
