The School of Social Work seeks a Communications Director to lead strategic communication initiatives, collaborate with leadership, and enhance the school's mission and visibility.
The School of Social Work (SSW) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Communications Director to lead the development and execution of strategic communications initiatives for one of its institutes. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with the Director and senior leadership and contribute to the advancement of the institutes mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Director and senior leadership to develop, implement, monitor, and refine strategic communications plans.
- Content Creation: Produce original multimedia content for various platforms, including websites, publications, print collateral, and social media channels.
- Networking and Outreach: Build relationships and networks to advance the schools visibility and strengthen its global brand.
- External Outreach: Conduct strategic outreach efforts to promote the school and its initiatives globally.
- Broader Impact Support: Assist in developing and implementing strategies to enhance the schools overall impact.
- Supervision: Occasionally oversee graduate student workers supporting communications projects.
Required Skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 5-8 years of work experience.
- Proven experience in strategic communications, content creation, and digital platforms.
- Strong multimedia production skills for diverse communication channels.
- Exceptional interpersonal and networking abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute comprehensive communications strategies.
- Supervisory experience is a plus.
