THE ROLE: Communications & Events Manager

At Stone Island we are always looking for people who share our spirit and values to drive our company forward. We are currently looking for someone that will be responsible for executing Stone Island's communication and community engagement strategy in the Americas, in alignment with the objectives set by Global HQ. This role demands creativity and strategic thinking to drive impactful press results and elevate brand awareness through targeted communication, events, and partnerships with VIPs and influencers. The role will support the rollout of Americas marketing initiatives and ensure Stone Island's positioning.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

Press & Communication Management:

  • Implement global communication strategies in the Americas market, adapting initiatives to align with Stone Island's brand identity.

  • Generate consistent positive media coverage for Stone Island and its key projects, positioning the brand accordingly and increase brand awareness

  • Foster strong relationships with media, ensuring that Stone Island’s brand narrative is accurately represented and perceived.

  • Utilize data analytics to assess the impact of press and community initiatives, refine strategies, and report performance metrics to Global HQ, ensuring all activities contribute to long-term brand goals.

  • Work closely with digital media outlets and social platforms to ensure Stone Island’s presence is elevated through innovative digital storytelling and partnerships with key online influencers.

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to create relevant, impactful content ensuring that all communications reflect Stone Island's brand positioning.

Community Engagement:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with communities, including stylists, agents, celebrities, and influencers, ensuring strategic brand visibility through partnerships and wardrobing / styling programs opportunities.

  • Lead the community seeding program, ensuring alignment with Global HQ’s guidelines and leveraging strategic partnerships in the Americas market.

  • Curate and manage exclusive experiences and events for VIPs and top influencers, enhancing their connection to the brand and fostering deeper brand loyalty through personalized engagements and brand storytelling.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (merchandising, retail, wholesale and e-commerce) to identify and maximize strategic opportunities for VIP and influencer partnerships, ensuring that these collaborations amplify Stone Island’s core values and brand message and identity across various channels.

Press Events Management:

  • Host press and VIP appointments at the Stone Island showroom, stores, and relevant external venues, creating impactful brand experiences.

  • Collaborate closely with wholesale and retail leadership to support business objectives through PR and community engagement.

  • Plan and lead seasonal collection launches, including press presentations and showroom events, ensuring they align with global guidelines.

  • Manage all Guest, VIP, and Media Outreach and RSVP management for Stone Island’s events/projects, coordinating logistics and ensuring seamless experiences.

  • Oversee in-store press events and promotions to strengthen relationships with media and influencers.

Showroom & Sample Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the New York Showroom, ensuring it is always presented to a high standard.

  • Manage press samples, including the movement and tracking of items, and coordinate sample requests for editorial use.

  • Track and report on press coverage, building weekly and monthly reports, highlighting key editorial placements and their impact.

Reporting & Additional Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit regular reports and analysis on brand activities, account performance, and market trends to senior management.

  • Maintain and update the press office database, ensuring accurate and timely communications with media contacts.

  • Attend global brand and marketing meetings as required, representing the region perspective.

  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Manager, contributing to the overall success of Stone Island's marketing and press strategy.

Collaboration And Communication:

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including HQ Teams, and other Group partners to ensure alignment and provide feedback to enhance stone island presence in the region.

  • Work closely with regional team and HQ press teams to ensure cohesive messaging and strategy across region.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or relevant field. In lieu of a degree, relevant years of experience is acceptable.

Work Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in marketing, press & media or a similar role.

  • Experience within Press and PR.

Special Skills and Personal Attributes

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for building and maintaining relationships with press, VIPs, and internal teams.

  • Ability to develop and foster strong relationships with media, talent, and key stakeholders in the industry.

  • Meticulous in managing press samples, event logistics, and showroom organization, ensuring a consistently high standard.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and able to adjust strategies as market conditions evolve.

  • Strong sense of cultural sensitivity, with an ability to navigate global communication strategies while ensuring relevance in the American market.

  • Focused on delivering measurable results in PR coverage, VIP engagement, and brand positioning.

  • Comfortable navigating digital platforms and working with influencers to increase brand visibility across social media and online outlets.

  • Technologically adept with proficiency in Microsoft tools (e.g. MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Photoshop).

  • Analytical skills with the ability to analyze reports to make data-driven decisions.

  • Strong ability to drive for results without compromising ethics and quality.

  • Agility and innovative thinking.

  • Strong understanding of competitive landscape, market trends.

  • Operational management and efficiency.

  • Excellent project management capabilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines and seasonal rotation plans, and multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • High level of cultural intelligence, able to navigate and respect diverse backgrounds of clients and employees.

  • Client centric approach with strong relationship building skills.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate and present marketing campaigns effectively.

For employees hired to work in New York, Stone Island includes a reasonable estimate of the salary rate range for this role. This considers the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions; including business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary is $100,000 to $115,000 annually.

In addition to competitive pay, the hired candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, paid parental leave, paid holidays, accrue up to 15 days of paid vacation time, 2 personal days, employee discounts, and a retirement plan with employer contribution.
