LOCATION
Orlando, FL - Match Day functions at Inter & CO Stadium.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must work majority of matches, strong written and verbal skills, reliable, strong attention to detail, knowledge of sports media operations, around 20 hours weekly, flexible hours including nights and weekends, Spanish-speaking is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in match day media relations, press box management, create a welcoming atmosphere for media, prepare post-game recaps, manage game day credentialing, oversee media protocols, and assist in non-match day communications as needed.

SHORT DESCRIPTION
Part-time position to support the Communications Department during match days, providing opportunities to learn about professional sports operations while engaging in media relations and event management activities.
With two major professional teams, Orlando City and Orlando Pride, the Orlando City Soccer Club (OCSC) has established itself as one of the preeminent Clubs in professional soccer.
Orlando City joined Major League Soccer (MLS) as the league's 21st franchise in November 2013, becoming the first MLS team in the Southeast. The Lions began league play in March 2015. In 2019, Orlando City re-launched Orlando City B (OCB) to bridge the gap between its successful youth development academy and the First Team.
The Orlando Pride, OCSC’s National Women’s Soccer League franchise, began play in 2016 – bringing professional women’s soccer to Orlando for the first time.
Orlando City and Orlando Pride play at Inter & CO Stadium, a 25,500-seat soccer-specific stadium built in 2017 and located in the heart of Downtown Orlando.

TITLE: Match Day Communications, PT

REPORTS TO: Communications Coordinator
FLSA: Part-Time, Non-exempt
Associate Summary
Associates will have the opportunity to learn about the history, culture, and vision of Orlando City and Orlando Pride, understanding the importance of how a professional sports organization works (which could include sales, marketing, public relations, operations, or the internal working of the Club), to further develop general critical thinking, problem-solving, time management, communication, and writing skills.

Orlando City and Orlando Pride is seeking a hardworking, positive, and passionate individual who wish to supplement their classroom instruction and/or previous experience with practical opportunities in facilitating match day press functions, including but not limited to match day media operations, onsite media and staff/player media availability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be a key player in the Communications Department’s match day media relations responsibilities for Orlando City, Orlando Pride and Orlando City B home matches.
- Assist Communications staff in press box management, including hospitality of media attendees.
- Create a positive and welcoming match day experience for onsite media.
- Prepare post-game recaps and post-game quote sheets.
- Facilitate game day credentialing and check-in process
- Oversee media movements and protocols on match day, with special attention to both venue and league protocols.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Opportunity to assist department in non-match day Communications events and additional venue events as needed.
- Must be able to work a majority of matches across the Club’s teams, including those on weekends and select holidays
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Exceptional reliability, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills required.
- An Innovative Individual who can come up with ideas and work extremely well within a team to come up with creative solutions and identify new opportunities, often in a high-pressure, fast-changing environment.
- Strong attention to small details is a must, including knowledge of AP Style guidelines.
- Strong knowledge of MLS, NWSL and/or MLS NEXT Pro or previous sports experience is a plus.
- Associate will be working around 20 hours weekly, depending on schedule.
- Spanish-speaking candidates a plus, but not mandatory.
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Applicants can use this position toward undergraduate or graduate degree internship requirements, though not required.
- Ideal candidate can commit to the entirety of the MLS, NWSL and MLS NEXT Pro seasons (Approx. Feb.-Nov.), however Club is willing to work with individual circumstances
