Each year, 40,000 people in the U.S. die from gun violence. We can change that. No organization has a more comprehensive and systematic approach to ending America’s gun violence epidemic. They say it can't be done. But we know Americans can do anything. Even end this epidemic of gun violence. For we are more powerful than any problem when we work as one. Now is the time to unite people, from coast to coast, young and old, liberal and conservative, fed up and fired up, and free our country from what is killing us. It's in our hands. Job Summary: The Communications Intern will support the organization’s communications strategy across various channels. Working closely with the entire communications team, the Communications Intern will assist with press and media relations, social media, digital marketing, social campaign research, the podcast, and graphic design/video creation. The Communications Intern will also have the opportunity to work across departments with other Brady staff. The ideal candidate will be flexible, enthusiastic, have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, a team player, and passionate about gun violence prevention. Duties and Responsibilities:* Producing one transcript of the podcast “Red, Blue, and Brady” per week, using the Otter.ai software; * Researching and producing dossiers on potential podcast guests, their work, and general topics related to gun violence that are featured on the podcast; * Write engaging, fact-checked content for Brady’s website, social media channels, digital advocacy campaigns, and PR efforts; * Assist in the planning, promotion, and execution of Brady virtual events through digital channels. * Researching and compiling social media backgrounds of individuals/influencers Brady intents to work with or cultivate; * Drafting sample social media messaging for Brady, Team ENOUGH, and End Family Fire channels; * Assist in the building of press lists, drafting opinion editorials, and letters to the editor; * Creation of blogs and other online content; * Strong research skills and an ability to synthesize information for other mediums; * Take notes at weekly all-staff meetings and post daily communication updates; * Help update and track Brady’s project request system.

Skills and Experience:* Strong writing skills, including precise grammar, punctuation, and spelling * Ability to work well under pressure within a fast-paced, high-performing team * Strong desire to be a key team contributor * Self-motivated, creative, dependable and accountable. * Available to work Monday - Thursday, 9:00 - 5:00pm eastern time.
