    Job Summary:
    Responsible for the development and implementation of Community Education programs, classes and events. Primary focus on adult programming and family events but will vary depending on identified needs.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate, plan and develop new programs and modify existing ones to enhance offerings.
    • Recruit instructors for classes, schedule activities and provide support as needed during evenings and weekends.
    • Market programs and grow participation in collaboration with the Communications Department and Community Education team. Help create content for print and digital marketing as well as website pages. Represent Community Education at community events, within the school district and other places as needed.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of current programs and participant satisfaction. Research new opportunities to serve the diverse needs of the community.
    • Research grant opportunities, prepare proposals and manage funding.
    • Assist with the development and monitoring of program budgets; determine supplies, materials and equipment for programs and develop and execute fundraising activities.
    • Maintain, strengthen and establish community partnerships to ensure maximum use of community resources.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to provide a high level of customer service and establish effective relationships.
    • Ability to understand, work and communicate effectively with diverse educational, cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
    • Proficiency in technology for word processing, budgeting, billing and communications. (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite, registration software)
    • Strong ability to manage multiple projects, dealing with interruptions and meeting deadlines.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging families, staff and community.
    • Demonstrate initiative, flexibility and a self-starter mindset.
    • Position requires flexibility in work schedule, including evenings and weekends when needed.
    • Attend meetings and workshops as needed. Participate in professional development within the field at the state, regional and local levels.

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in a related field. A combination of education and related experience will be considered.
    • Valid MN Driver’s License without restrictions.
    • 2 years experience in community education or related field preferred and knowledge of programming, evaluation and budget management.
    Work Schedule - M-F, 40 hours per week, year-round with flexible hours to meet the needs of the program.

    Compensation Package:
    • $42,720 to $80,367 annually, based on experience and qualifications. While the full range is available, most candidates can expect to fall within the $54,000 to $69,000 range, depending on relevant experience, skills, and education.
    • 25 vacation days and 15 sick days annually
    • 12 paid holidays (includes 2 floating holidays)
